Brexit

Did I tell you that, back in  July, I voted in the referendum?

I did.

I voted Remain,  so you know: because I honestly believe staying in the EU to be the best decision.

I think the world knows what the overall result was, though.

My country voted to leave the EU.

What you may not know?

Is the campaigners have challenged the British government's position that to trigger the process of leaving is purely a government decision.

The High Court has ruled in the campaigners favour, today.

Effectively?

The Government must put triggering Article 50 - the process for leaving - to a parliamentary vote.

There's possibly a lot to say, there.

One quote I caught on the news?

Was from a campaigner who said this was about ‘ …process, not politics.’

My polite response, there?

Is an old term, similar to ‘bullocks.’

Of  course it's about politics.

Any time people disagree, it’s about politics.

My own personal view, though?

Is that Theresa May’s government could’ve moved much faster on leaving the Union.

As much as I’d rather we stayed …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3-11-2016

You know, it’s not often I can say ‘I’m pleased’ …

But I’m rather pleased.

As you know, I’ve written about the movies I’ve watched, over the years.

Including, a few years ago, now, the classic that is Cabaret.

Damn good film, Cabaret.

As part of that … ?

I’d posted a clip to YouTube.

And it’s possibly the most commented on video I’ve put on the site.

What can I tell you?

Apart from … ?

I’m rather pleased …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2-11-2016: BBC1

Oh, BOY, but I’m yawning … !

But that’s what happens when you’re up late, chatting to people on Facebook.

You get …

Well, you get a hell of a tired feeling in the morning!

Still … it could be a lot worse …

I could’ve forgotten to put my alarm on … !

Oh …

Did I mention that I had a haircut … ?

I had a haircut!

Granted, that’s not necessarily the first thing you’ll want to know in the morning.

But, BOY …

I was starting to get shaggy … !

Class: Series 1 — Episode 3 - Nightvisiting

1st November, 2016.

You know, there’s very few fine things in life.

And yes: I’m very aware that your definition of ‘fine things in life,’ is going to be different to my definition.

Sometimes, though?

They might not be so different.

I’m assuming, here, we’ll agree about …

  • A good meal.
  • A fine wine: or whatever equivalent you prefer.   (Tea, coffee, beer, whatever.)
  • A bit of entertainment …
To be frank?

It’s the last that get’s my attention …

Entertainment.

You see, I’m something of a Dr Who fan: and kept up with Torchwood, whilst it lasted.

So … ?

My point, here, as that I was never one the listened to the Big Finish audio Dr Who stories.

But DID like the idea of more stories set in one of my favourite fictional universes.

Then Class started on online BBC channel, BBC 3.

And, after seeing the first two episodes, a few days ago … ?

I think I can include nominate Class to my ‘Fine Things’ list …

Especially given Episode 3 …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 1-11-2016

Right …

I’ve TIME OFF!

Although some of today … ?

Will be chewed up at the local benefit office.   As I’m still claiming the Housing Costs part of Universal Benefit, I still have to report in once a month.

Quite what I’m supposed to have done over the past few weeks — beyond working at my new job — I couldn’t tell you.

Here’s where I get to find out …
