Right … 

It’s now Wednesday: the day after a busy Tuesday!

Quite a bit happened, yesterday.

For a start … ?

I finally got the letter about my application for Personal Independence Payment.

It’s been turned down!

So … ?

Of course I’ve put in for a MRN, or Mandatory Reconsideration Notice: the start of an appeal, in other words.

How that will go, I don’t know.

I do know that — when I was making the call to put that through — I got a call from my GP.

With some good news.

Apparently?

My blood sugars are down.

From 57, last time, to 53, this time.   (Some seven per cent, if that’s how you measure it.)

It’s a shame the new medication hasn’t helped shift as much weight: but the blood sugars dropping?

Is good.

On top of that … ?

On top of that, my GP’s also told me the surgery has a ‘social prescriber’: someone who could help with my PIP claim.

I’m expecting a call from them, on Monday.

Quite what they can do … ?

I don’t know.

But hopefully, they should be able to help.

I’m also very aware my nephew, Jude, was over, yesterday.

Yes: we’ve done another video.

And I have to admit to a certain amount of pride, there: he edited this one, himself.

I seem to be having an effect!

It’s officially Tuesday!

And, yes: it does mean my nephew is heading over.

Frankly, I’m off to my weight management class.

You know, Friday was a stressful day.

Friday just gone, I should add.

I had a new set of utility meters put in.

Not something I found easy: but there you go.

At any rate … ?

I was due a delivery from a third party seller on Amazon, the same day: a tub of Marmite, so you know.

The seller’s are called (Daily Essentials), so you know.

The Marmite hasn’t turned up.

I was annoyed enough to contact the seller and complain.

According to them, the currier — their spelling — had successfully delivered it.

And that I should check with my family and neighbours.

I live on my own: and the neighbours had nothing.

The tub?

Is still listed as ‘running late’ on Amazon, I should add.

The sooner the tub turns up?

The happier I’ll be.

Oh, talking of the new meters?

And the spiffing new In Home Display that goes with them … ?

It’s got traffic lights on it.

Or, at least, a green, orange and red light.

As far as I can tell … ?

These are supposed to change: when your gas — or electricity — usage goes up and down.

That’s handy: I’ve already worked out which of my appliances — the washing machine’s fairly low energy, as is the iMac, but the spare desktop, and the oven, are hogs! — are good or bad.

OK, the traffic lights are a simplistic way of measuring these things.

But that — and the rough price guide it shows — are handy.

One last thing, before I move on … ?

I’ve finally managed to finish my reviews of “Under the Cloak of War”, the most recent episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds.

This second season is very strong.

But?

This episode is very strong!

Star Trek Strange New Worlds Episode 8 — “Under the Cloak of War” — A Review

28th July, 2023: The Intro.

It’s Friday.

And yes: you’ve possibly guessed a few things.

For a start, that it is a Friday.

You’ve got a calendar — on your computer, wall or phone — the same as I have.

Yes: it’s Friday.

And, once again, I’ve got fish, home made chips, and a healthy dose — dose? — of vegetables on the go.

And … ?

As you possibly might have realised — if you’ve read this morning’s Teaser post — that I’ve had new, smart, pay-as-you-go, utilities meters, put in.

Something I personally found stressful.

Especially as the old gas meter’s battery had run out.

It meant that the engineer could transfer the credit from my electricity meter … but not from the gas meter.

As he could read it!

Oh, well: we’ll have to see how that goes.

At any rate … ?

It’s Friday … 

Which means that, once I’ve had dinner … ?

I’ll be watching “Under the Cloak of War”, the next episode of Star Trek Strange New World, tonight.
