Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 9-8-2017: The Second Bomb

What … ?

Wait, wait, wait, hang on …

What … ?

The BBC’s done what … ?

They’ve cancelled Count Arthur Strong … ?

Good GODS … !

I hate to sound whiney, here, but they’ve cancelled the Count Arthur Strong show!

OK, not wasn’t big, it wasn’t necessarily clever …

But the show was light, funny …

And had a gentleness of touch that is had to find elsewhere.

It is, much like the cancelling of The Fades, a bit of a bombshell.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring five out of five in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, alongside the How To, License and video …

Q1) 9th August, 1945, saw US forces drop an atomic bomb.   On which Japanese city?
Q2) That city was what: a port, army base or air base?
Q3) The bomb was launched from the Bockscar.   The Bockscar was what: a B29, a F1-11 or B18?
Q4) What nickname was given to the bomb used?
Q5) Finally … Roughly how many were killed in the detonation: 31000, 33000 or 35000?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) August Eighth is a 2012 film.   From which country: the USA, Germany or Russia?
A1) Russia.
Q2) 8th August, 1974, saw whom announce, “I have never been a quitter.”?
Q3) 8th August, 1170, saw the birth of Saint Dominic, founder of the Dominicans.   He’s the patron saint of whom: physicists, astronomers or mathematicians?
Q4) Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s divorce was finalized: on 8th August, 2001.   In which year had they married?
A4) 1990.
Q5) Finally … who sent their resignation letter to President Jefferson Davis: on 8th August, 1863?
A5) General Robert E. Lee.
Here’s a song …

And a thought …
“I cannot conceive that the man who dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was a machine.”
Osho, Intimacy: Trusting Oneself and the Other.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a nice … day …

*        I’m with you, there, Debbi!   And, year, I managed to correct the date.   That’s what happens when you write on five hours sleep!

  1. I know ... or at least, remember ... that feeling. :)

    1. Nagasaki
    2. a port
    3. a B-29
    4. Fat Man
    5. 35,000 (and that's a conservative estimate)

This is too horrifying for me to contemplate. I need some sleep. Now! :) Ugh. What were we thinking?

I love it when people comment. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively adult. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

If you can also leave you comments on today’s Teaser Video, that would be good.

Thank you.
