23rd June, 2026: the Referendum.
Right … it’s the anniversary of a well known referendum.
I sound more undecided than I actually was: eventually voting Remain, as I felt — and still feel — my nephew, Jude, should be able to freely move around the Schengen Area.
Unfortunately?
Others felt differently.
The vote to Leave?
Was and is the biggest mistake of the UK’s life.

On a possibly happier front?
I notice, from reading those old posts?
That it was raining on the morning of 23rd June, 2016.
It was raining, again, this morning: thunder storming, in fact.
Was that significant?
Meaningful?
Purely co-incidental?
Frankly?
I think it was purely co-incidental.
The UK’s only got so many weather patterns.

Oh … I had a couple of new t-shirts turn up, yesterday: a couple of custom prints from an online t-shirt printing place.
The emoji one?
Is getting some positive attention from a couple of Terry Pratchett sites I’m on.

The second … ?
Well, the second is from the original West End Games version of Paranoia.
If you want to use the image in your own t-shirt?
Go right on ahead … !
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) The UK held a referendum on 23rd June. Of which year: 2014, 2016 or 2018?Q2) The vote took place in the UK. And where else: the Republic of Ireland, Gibraltar or the Falklands Islands?Q3) The referendum was to decide the UK’s membership of what: the United Nations, the European Union or the Royal and Ancient Order of Boiler Makers?Q4) There were two options on the ballot paper: Leave … or what?Q5) Finally … ? The UK voted to what?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) Charon was first observed: on 22nd June. 22nd June of which year: 1976, 1978 or 1980?A1) 1978.Q2) It’s a satellite of where: Pluto, Neptune or Uranus?A2) Pluto.Q3) It’s one of how many such satellites: four, five or six?A3) Five.Q4) The others are Styx, Nyx, Kerberos and what else: Hydra, Cyclops or Althea?A4) Hydra.Q5) Finally … ? Charon is named after the ferryman of the dead. In which ancient mythology: Greek, Roman or Egyptian?A5) Greek.
Here’s a thought …
“The national turnout of 72% was the highest ever for a UK-wide referendum, and the highest for any national vote since the 1992 general election.”From the Wikipedia entry on the vote.
The sad results …
And an earworm …
The next 10 question sets are on 1st July, 4th July, 5th July, 11th and 13th July: they’re about New Brunswick, Independence Day, Nemesis the Warlock, World Horse Day and “I Don’t Like Mondays”.
Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.
AI is avoided when writing these questions.
Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum! (It was five, rather than six, Mum.)
† He’s entertaining, Debbi, I know that much … !

I'm also a fan of Sylvester McCoy. Something about the way he plays the spoons. :)
Also, his companion, Ace, was awesome. Explosive. :)
