Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 17th February, 2026.

17th February, 2026.

Right … I am officially feeling tired … after getting up at 5·20!

I’ll be honest, I got — for me — something of an late night: after finishing a review of an episode of Stranger Things.

Episode two, if you’re curious: The Vanishing of Holly Wheeler.

So … ?

Getting up as early as I did, doesn’t exactly light my fire.

I can only hope the review — and its in-depth discussion of the difference between a vest, and a waistcoat — gets it a few views …

Oh …

I mention my weight, in today’s introduction video: as I was at my weight management class, yesterday.

Wouldn’t you know it?

My weight’s gone up a kilo!

I think joining Crisps Anonymous might be a good idea … !

Here in the UK, we’re supposed to have local elections, every-so-often.

The next one in Brentwood?

Is due on 7th May of this year.

Many, however, have been delayed: as many local councils are to be reorganised.

Except, of course, central government has had to put plans to delay some thirty elections on hold: after Reform decided to take the Government to court, to force the elections to go ahead.

I don’t like the idea of delaying elections, I really don’t: we should have our say, regardless of any planned  changes.

Mind you … I don’t like the idea of Reform, of all parties, belabouring the point.

But, love ’em or hate ’em … ?

They’ve force central government into a screaming U-turn.

This Labour government’s fond of those …

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        17th February is Global Tourism Resilience Day.   According to whom: the United Nations, European Union or FIFA?

Q4)        The US Supreme Court ruled is the Wesberry v. Sanders case: on 17th February, 1964.   The decision meant US congressional districts had to be roughly equal in the size of their whats: areas, populations or earnings?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Footballer, Tyler Dibling, was born on 17th February, 2006.   At the time of writing, he plays for which club: Liverpool, Everton or Accrington Stanley?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A4)        A terminal.   (From what I’ve understood?   Most modern desktop computers will have a terminal emulator bundled with the operating system.   The one on my Mac is Terminal.app: the Windows equivalent is Windows Terminal.   I could, in theory, access an old school BBS from my Mac, but I’ve no idea how!)

Q5)        Finally … ?   The programmers who created this particular bulletin board system, did so when they were stuck indoors.   During a what: an earthquake, a snow storm or a heatwave?
A5)        A snow storm.
Here’s a thought …
“If you were there behind every family’s closed doors, everyone’s a little wacko”.
Meaghan Martin, (born February 17, 1992).
A song …

And an earworm …

The next three ten question sets are on the 27th and 28th of February, and 1st of March: they’re about Pokémon, Andalusia and Nebraska.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (It was Chicago, Mum, rather than New York.)

Well … I’m up, again, Olga!   I really have to lay off the crisps!
Right at the moment, Olga, the rack makes for a very nice bracelet.

        It’s a good one, Debbi: although I think I prefer today’s!
Oh, did you hear of a Japanese dance troop called Avantgardey?   They and Jessie J share haircuts …
