Amazon — or, at least, the third party sellers  I’d ordered a DVD from — were supposed to deliver a DVD to me, last night.

By eight PM.

It hasn’t turned up, yet.

All I get on the site … ?

Is this little announcement … 

I’m … well … not surprised, frankly.

We’re just have to see when the thing turns up.

Or what happens when the seller reads his messages …

Yes: it’s a Monday morning … 

And it’s nose back to the proverbial grindstone time.

As you possibly know, right now, I’m jobhunting.

And, after some three months?

It’s getting frustrating.

There’s quite a few jobs I’ve applied for, that keep showing up.

Regardless of the fact I’ve already had a rejection email.

Those make for mildly depressing reading, actually: the one’s I get usually tell me “we’ve picked a candidate who was a better fit for our requirements.”

Which does put you off asking for feedback …

Right then … 

As you’ve possibly noticed from the introductory video … ?

I’ve now got a new pair of spectacles.

And, worryingly?   I’m thinking they make me look a little too much like Harry Potter for my comfort.   Although, as I mentioned, yesterday … ?

Ponder Stibbons — one of Terry Pratchett’s recurring characters — is a fictional someone I’d far prefer to be compared to.

After all, he’s a rocket wizard.

Have you been watching the news … ?

You, like I , would possibly be following the story of Emiliano Sala, the former Nantes player who’d been signed to Cardiff FC, and whose plane crashed on the way back to pick up his personal belongings.

How body’s been found.

Which is good.

But … ?

I’ve not been able to find the reference for this.   But I seem to remember reports that pilot had claimed to be out of practise with the model of plane.   That there were some doubts about an airworthiness certificate.

And that Sala himself had sent a message saying “ … I am now on board a plane that seems like it is falling to pieces …”

Frankly?

I’d love to hear the air accident report: I don’t about Sala’s family, but I’d like to know what happened …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 9-2-2019: Tail Gunner Joe’s Big Mission …

9th February, 2019.

Yes: I’m going to have to send that movie back to Amazon.

It looks fantastic … but frankly?

I’m blowed if I can get the subtitle to work.

Frankly?   The film was made by Germans, written by Germans, stars Germans, and consequently?   Is in German, a language I don’t actually read?

Yes, I know it’s a silent movie.

It’s still all in German: the intertitle cards, at least.

It’s going back.

On other fronts, my new glasses are due in.

On a day when the weather’s looking nasty.

Don’t you just love that?

Either way?

I’m looking forward to picking them up.

Although I’m worried that one pair — the ones I’ll be using everyday, including when I record videos for Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar — make me look like Harry Potter.

I can only hope someone mentions Ponder Stibbons, at some point …

Just as a LAST thought … ?

There’s more updates available to macOS: now described as a ‘supplemental update for macOS 10.14.3’.

Seemingly, it’s the macOS patch for the FaceTime bug that’s been recently revealed.

I’m glad to see it.

I’m also slightly worried: as the last update made iMovie had to use …

Star Trek Discovery — Series 2 Episode 4: An Obol For Charon

8th February, 2019.

Yep: I think — having looked out of my window, earlier — that I’m right.

When I say it’s awful out.

I’ll be frank, I don’t think it’s stopped raining since this morning, when I went out.

And looked grim, ever since.

Frankly?

I’m just glad I’ve had some laundry and cleaning up to do.

Along side the inevitable job-hunting …

Is that it’s Friday.

But you’ve possibly already guessed that bit, haven’t you … ?

And, for the past few Fridays?

I’ve been catching up with the CBS All Access second series of Star Trek: Discovery.

And, yes: it’s VERY frantic …
