Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29-9-2025 — The Prisoner (Ten Questions)

29th September, 2025: The Prisoner.

It’s Monday morning.

And, of course, I’m up early: to get to my weight management meeting.

Hopefully?

I will have lost some weight.

I was under one hundred kilos, last week: so it would be nice if I’ve lost more, this week.

Here’s hoping.

~≈⚖️≈~

Something I know … ?

Is that one of my X followers is always happy to tell me what the weather’s like in her part of the world: including when she’s got fog.

I’m mildly jealous, as we’ve not had fog, here, for a couple of years.

Until this morning, that is.

I know it’s chilly out … but I always think the fog makes my street look romantic … !

~≈🌫️≈~

It seems that the people of Switzerland have had a referendum on digital ID.

And … ?

Narrowly voted in favour of their government’s proposed scheme.

Well done, them.

They’ve voted for a digital ID scheme that’s voluntary: unlike the scheme proposed by Sir Keir Starmer.

If someone could point out that a voluntary ID scheme seems popular, that could be a big hint for the PM.

Make the scheme voluntary, Sir Keir: you’ll have less problems getting it through the House of Commons …

~≈🗳️≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Debbi‡ and Irene§ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        The Prisoner first aired 29th September.   Of which year of the 1960s?

Q2)        The Prisoner, himself, was played by whom: David Tennent, Roger Moore or Patrick McGoohan?

Q3)        The Prisoner was only known by a number.   Which number: Six, Seven or Eight?

Q4)        The Prisoner worked for which country’s government: the UK’s, the USA’s or West Germany’s?

Q5)        The prison the Prisoner was in, was called ‘the Village’.   The Village’s external locations were filmed where: Portmeirion, Mumbles or Splot?

Q6)        In the show’s opening credits, the Prisoner says: “I am not a number, I am a …” … what?

Q7)        The show’s opening credits famously ask: “Who is Number” … what: One, Two or Three?

Q8)        Guy Doleman, George Baker, Leo McKern and Eric Portman all played the leader of the Village.   Who was that leader?

Q9)        Angelo Muscat played the Village leader’s servant.   That servant was an ever-so-silent what: maid, butler or housekeeper?

Q10)        Finally … ?   The show’s first episode was called “Arrival”.   The last episode was called what: “Doomsday”, “Fall Out” or “The End”?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        According to the United Nations, 28th September is the International Day for Access to what: Information, Indecision or Illegibility?
A1)        The International Day for Access to Information.

Q2)        28th September is also World Rabies Day.   Rabies itself, can cause a fear or what: water, peanuts or being stared at by ducks?
A2)        Water.   (Anatidæphobia, the fear of being watched by ducks, is largely theoretical.)

Q3)        Kong Qui was born on 28th September, 551BC.   Kong Qui is better known how?
A3)        Confucius.

Q4)        Sir Robert Stout was born on 28th September, 1844.   He was the thirteenth prime minister of where: Australia, New Zealand or South Africa?
A4)        New Zealand.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Lata Mangeshkar was born on 28th September, 1929.   She was a singer who performed in which country’s movie industry: the USA’s, India’s or China’s?
A5)        India’s.
Here’s a quote that’s not an answer …
“I am not a number. I am a person.”
The Prisoner.
And a clue …

The ramp to the underground carpark, the one the Prisoner drives down, is supposed to be the site of the car bomb explosion that killed Airey Neave, MP.

The next ten question set is tomorrow: it’s about Thunderbirds.

Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Thunderbirds themed, Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        That sounds a lot like what I do the reviews: write up the introduction, whilst prepping up the notes — and tags, and links! — and then drafting the written article … then recording it, once it’s finalised!   I’m betting the station’s got a social media manager who’ll post the results to wherever!   I have to do that, myself, so I’m mildly envious!
I can only hope the Swiss referendum makes a point to the Government, Olga: making the scheme voluntary will give the government less problems.

        Hello, Mum!

I’m saying nothing about Bill Gates, Debbi!   (Oh, this set should be easy, Debbi: I don’t know about tomorrow’s, though.)

§        Morning, Irene: how IS the day … ?

It is a very small affair, the radio station, I mean, so there aren't many people who are paid to do anything (only 3 or 4, I believe) and most have to do a bit of everything. I know the partner/wife of the director does a lot of what has to do with images, etc., but I am not sure she does all the social media things. I know Pau does some of the tweets, but I think the director does a lot of that himself, while Pau tends to look after the news portal and articles, at least the ones he does for the programme. There are news items that the director covers at other points, because Pau does not generally work on weekends and doesn't always participate in events and festivals where the radio station has a stall, so those things tend to be covered by Oleguer, the director. It's a very hands on thing, and although there are a lot of volunteers and collaborators, not many of them help regularly. Some only do a couple of things per year...
I hope the meeting went well and the weight is behaving.

Bill Gates has real class!

That was a very generous remark/opinion about the Mac.

Especially when you remember those old commercials ... adverts? ...
