Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 15th September 2025.

15th September, 2025.

It’s Monday morning: and … ?

The news is burbling in the background.

Politics in the UK is … messy: as anyone following the career of Peter Mandelson will know.

It turns out the former UK Ambassador to the USA was involved with sex trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein.

Although, to be fair to Mandelson?

I don’t think Mandelson was buying what Epstein was selling.

Epstein — from the little I know — was trafficking girls and women: Madelson is gay.

But … ?

Well …

It’s messy for Mandelson.

It’s very messy for Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister.

There’s questions over how much the PM know, before he sacked Mandelson.

Messy … and possibly nasty …

~≈🫆≈~

At any rate, that’s possibly beside the point.

It’s still Monday, and I’m up early.

And off to town for my weight management group.

I’m hoping two things.

One?

I don’t get wet: the weathr looks like rain’s on the way.

Two … ?

I’ve lost weight …

~≈⚖️≈~

As a final though … ?

I’ve finally posted my video, and written, reviews of “New Life and New Civilizations”.

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga†, Debbi‡ and Irene§ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring ten out of ten, and Mum and Irene on nine.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        15th September is the International Day of what: democracy, demolitions or deserts?

Q2)        15th September, 2017, saw a Jihadist-linked explosion, at a London Underground station.   Which station: Putney Bridge, Parsons Green or Fulham Broadway?

Q3)        Saichō was born on 15th September, AD767.   He was a noted Buddhist monk from where: China, Japan or Vietnam?

Q4)        15th September is World Lymphoma Awareness Day.   Lymphoma is a form of what: cancer, STD or anxiety disorder?

Q5)        Finally … ?   15th September is Saint Mirin’s Day.   He’s the patron saint of where: Paisley, Renfrew or Greenock?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Actor, Sam Neill, was born on 14th September.   In which year of the 1940s?

A3)        The Sullivans.

Q4)        Sam Neill played Dr Alan Grant in a 1993 movie.   Which 1993 movie: The Piano, Jurassic Park or In the Mouth of Madness?
A4)        Jurassic Park.   I saw In the Mouth of Madness, many years ago.   It’s an interesting watch …

Q5)        Neill played Richard Martin in Bicentennial Man.   Who played the Bicentennial Man, in Bicentennial Man?
A5)        Robin Williams.

Q6)        He narrated the 2005 documentary, Gallipoli.   The documentary is about a campaign that took place during what: World War One, World War Two or the Vietnam War?

A10)        Laurence Fishburne.   (The film is a personal favourite: but was cut to ribbons by the studio.   The lost footage has since been lost: so, to the best of my knowledge, there’s no possibility of a director’s cut.)
Here’s an observation …

“It had to be done many, many times to confirm that it was okay.   So we worked for 22 hours!”
Fay Wray, (September 15, 1907 – August 8, 2004) speaking of filming King Kong.

And an LP …

The next ten question set is on 21st September, the International Day of Peace.

Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (Actually, it was 1981, not 1986.)

†        That it was, Olga!  It helps Connie’s left handed, as well: I’ve been trying to talk her into discounts for left-handers for years … !

From what I can remember, Debbi, the term’s used of the Williams’ character towards the end of the film.   It’s also used of the character, in Asimov’s original short story.
The next ten question set’s on the 21st, Debbi!

§        Glad you enjoyed it, Irene.   It’s always worth checking each day’s Teaser out, sometimes they’re themed, sometimes they’re not: I never know until I write them.
