Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 27-6-2024 — Djibouti

27th June, 2024: Djibouti.

Right then … it’s Thursday!

And … ?

I managed to have my most recent meeting with my Job Centre case worker, yesterday morning: by phone, thankfully.

I don’t know if I’ll end up getting the job she suggested I apply for — in Pitsea — but it’s the first I’ve seen in a while.

JUST as a thought … ?

It’s election year in the UK.

The things a week away, so you know.

So?

I thought I’d give you a few thoughts from earlier this years: about spoiling my vote.

I hope I get a few views!

~≈¥≈~

I’m not the only one posting videos!

Yes: Jude’s posted another one, this week.

If you could hit the ‘Like’ button on it — and as many of the Mikey videos you see floating past — you’ll make my nephew very happy!

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Debbi and Mum scoring five out of five, and Olga on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        27th June is Independence Day in Djibouti.   It marks the country’s independence from where: Germany, France or Spain?

Q2)        It’s a what: monarchy, caliphate or republic?

Q3)        Name either one of the country’s official languages.

Q4)        What’s Djibouti’s currency: the Djiboutian Mark, the Djiboutian Shilling or the Djiboutian Franc?

Q5)        Finally … ?   What’s Djibouti’s capital city?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1)        Torture.

Q2)        26th June is the UN sponsored International Day Against what: Torture, Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking or Discrimination?

Q3)        The Universal Product Code, or bar code, was first used on 26th June, 1974.   It’s oblong.   The more recent QR code is what shape: oblong, square or circular?
A3)        Square.

Q4)        Hollie Arnold was born on 26th June, 1994.   She’s a Paralympic what: shot-putter, discus-thrower or javelineer?
A4)        Javelineer.   (Javelineer?   Javelin thrower?   It’s one of those words!)

Q5)        Finally … ?   26th June is Independence Day, where: Madagascar, the Maldives or Malta?
A5)        Madagascar.
Here’s a motto …
“اتحاد، مساواة، سلام”
“Unity, Equality, Peace”.
Djibouti’s motto.
A song …

And an earworm§ …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (‘Javelineer’ gets used in the Wikipedia page, Mum.)

†        You know, I’m really going to have to sit down with Twin Peaks: Firewalk With Me, Olga!   Mind you, I’ve not caught up with the third series, yet!
I think I’m going to have the same problem, desk wise: but the pedalling machine sounds like a good idea!   We’ll see.

Thankfully, it’s cooling down, today, Debbi.   Still … I’ve just put another bottle of water in the fridge!

§        Miss Twisted’s real name is Charlotte, she’s Australian … and her cosplays are both gorgeous, and look like a lot of work.   The only other people I’ve seen put in that much effort are the people who paint model soldiers, and build train sets.

As suspected, the day is proving a bit too busy to fit anything else in, but I hope to visit tomorrow (although I have to go to the dentist in the morning and to the radio station in the afternoon to edit the news item I'm covering a bit later). We shall see.
And good luck with the job. ♥
