12th August, 2025: the day before Left-hander’s Day.

Right … it’s officially official: it’s the day before Left Hander’s Day.

So … ?

I’m hoping to people will want to have a go at tomorrow’s Teaser.

And encourage anyone who knows a lefty to give them a hug: and, possibly, a pair of left handed scissors.

Left-handed scissors, and left handed rulers, are handy …

I have to confess: I’ve been watching AppleTV’s Foundation series: as the third series is out.

I don’t know how close the series is to it’s source text.

But?

It’s an interesting watch: and and beautiful to look at.

The design work is incredible!

It’s official: the new phone has been delivered!

Turning up, yesterday, about five minutes before I was due to head out for my weight management meeting.

I’ve gained weight: which I wasn’t expecting.

But have set up my new gadget: an Oppo A40 phone.

Granted, the volume buttons are on the wrong side: they’re used to take screen shots, as well as control the volume, so that makes taking screenshots awkward.

I had trouble using gesture control, so switched back to button control.

On the upside?

The thing’s got a more recent version of the operating system, and cameras that are on a par, if not better, than my older phone’s.

And the actual transfer of data — photos, apps, contact details — from old phone to new went relatively well.

Given how anxious I felt about it’s delivery, and how jittery I felt setting it up?

It’s gone relatively well.

I’ve posted my review of the recent episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

I’m off to my weight management meeting.

Hopefully, I’ll lost some: and carried on the proverbial run from last week.

My new phone’s due, today.

And … ?

I’ll admit to being anxious about its delivery.

Granted, one neighbour has offered to take it in: as they’re working from home, today.

So, of course, I’ve left a sign on my door.

Even with that … ?

I’m still a touch anxious: as I’ve still not been able to contact them, to tell them when I’m going to out, or that a different neighbour has agreed to help.

Gosh … but it’s early on a Thursday!

Actually, that’s something of a lie.

As I write this?

It’s a Thursday afternoon: and Numan’s The Pleasure Principle is on in the background.

Because … ?

The BBC’s news channel is boring me, and YouTube … ?

Has a lot I’d like to watch, but will find distracting while I’m writing.

So … ?

Getting an early start on a review of a new episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds … ?

Seems like a good idea … 

I’ll be watching “Through the Lens of Time” — the episode in question — tonight.

And should have my written and video reviews up, by Sunday, 10th August.

Right … it’s official: my review of the latest episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has been delayed.

As I had my nephew, Jude, around, yesterday.

He’s released his latest video … !

I’ve got a phone being delivered, tomorrow: on the same day as my Weight Management group.

Normally?

I’d rearrange the delivery date after I’d spoken to the delivery firm — DHL, in this case, who are usually very good about these things — about the time of delivery, OR arranged for a neighbour to take things in.

Except … ?

The neighbours who usually do this for me are on holiday: and others may or may not be able to help.

I can’t talk to someone in person, at either O2 or the couriers, until tomorrow: the day of delivery.

Emails — and phone calls! — don’t get answered until then, either!

Frustrating … ?

Oh, yes!

A shop in Beijing has opened: that sells robots … !

A wide variety of robots, from dogs, to chess players, to reproductions of Albert Einstein.

I’m thinking a lot of things.

I’m thinking someone will mention “that damn Frankenstein Complex”.

And that Isaac Asimov must be turning in his grave …

I got paid, yesterday: and … ?

Managed to pay for the washing machine repair.

And for something else.

My mobile phone is slowly aging: and possibly only going to get me so much if I sell it on.

However?

Getting paid my PIP meant I could pay for the repair and get a new handset.

An Oppo A40, in case you’re wondering.

The cameras aren’t as high resolution as my current phones.

But the thing’s operating system should be supported for longer …
