In Memorium: Nicholas Courtney

Oh, now that’s a sad thing to hear, that really is.

I’ve literally just been floating around the ’Net, after posting up the Teaser.

And happened to look at Life, Dr Who And ComBom, to find that Nicholas Courtney — the man who played Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, one of Dr Who’s best loved recurring characters — died, last night, art 81.

Now that’s sad, that really is.

It makes me feel as though part of my childhood just died … !

So, just to memorialise the man, himself … ?

I’ll leave you with these two photo’s.

And the video’s.

RIP
Nicholas Courtney

I hope the show will somehow pay tribute to him, acknowledge that the character has passed away as well.

There ae certain combinations of character and actor where you just can't picture the character being able to go on - even off-screen - without the actor who gave him life. (Another example that comes to mind - Archie Bunker.) And I think the Brigadier falls into that category.

Rest in peace, both Mr. Courtney and the Brigadier.....
