Including Henry’s famously troubled relationship with the then Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas à Becket*.

* Just in case you didn’t know, Thomas à Becket was later Sainted by the Roman Catholic church, and accepted as one by the Anglican church. In point of fact, Brentwood has a Saint Thomas’ church, just behind the High Street. And, just in front of the main shopping precinct, there’s the ruins of Saint Thomas à Becket chapel. Brentwood used to be one of the main stopping points on the pilgrimage route to Canterbury.
