Apparently?
MI6, Britain’s intelligence agency, is to launch a recruitment website called ‘Silent Courier’: on the dark web, the section of the World Wide Web hidden from regular browsers.
I really don’t want to be a spy: I doubt I’d be good at it.
But … ? That wouldn’t stop me trying to find that site, given the chance … !

Thanks, Paul. The outfit wasn't very posh, but I'll share some pics when the article appears. (Although I was the MC, more or less, the director of the radio station and the photographer, who is his partner, were there as well, recording the event and doing pics, so I'm sure there will be an article coming up).
I like the pics, although, as you say, the likeness is not very good for you. Mind you, I think the potato is fabulous. Bobby is not bat at all.
I remember one of the students I had at Sussex University when I was a TA (I had her two years in a row, in different courses) who told us she had applied for MI5, in her case, and one of the issues was that they contacted everybody around her to make sure there was nobody suspicious or whatever. They never contacted me, and although I didn't know her that well, she was a good student. She always went to class and turned up the work in time, and she did quite well. She was reliable, that I guess is a good thing. I wonder if she ended up working for them or not, as I left Sussex when I finished my PhD and never saw her again.
As they were final year students, sometimes they'd ask us for references, although I don't think I wrote many, because I was only a TA. My friend, Christelle, when we were in the US, at Mount Holyoke, was teaching French for the year she was there, and many of her students asked her for references and recommendations. She hated it, and I ended up telling her what to write, based on the information she gave me. They seemed happy with the result, so...
No worries, Paul. This conference is right in Columbia. A 20-minute drive from home, at worst. :)
