20th August, 2018.
Yes, faint …
OK, couldn’t resist that one, given the filter.
At any rate … ? There’s two things I think I should highlight. Right here and now.
One? I want to go back to bed.
It’s a Monday.
Refilling my pill box went wrong, for a start, and I had to take laundry out of, and put more laundry into, my tumble-dryer.
Oy …
And two?
There’s STILL no air date for Dr Who!
Frankly?
I’m starting to wonder …

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi* putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, and Debbi on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 20th August, 1949, saw the birth of the late Phil Lynott. Which rock band was he the frontman for?
Q2) The NS Savannah started its maiden voyage: on 20th August, 1962. It was the first civilian ship powered by what: diesel, solar power or a nuclear generator?
Q3) 20th August, 1920, saw the founding of the US NFL. The NFL is the governing body of which sport?
Q4) 20th August, 1940, saw whom fatally injured with an icepick?
Q5) Finally? Demi Lovato was born on 20th August, 1992. She originally found fame on which children’s show?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q4) Whilst leader, Augustus completed the Roman conquest of which ‘H’?A4) Hispania: what’s now Spain and Portugal.
Q5) Finally … ? Augustus died on 19th August. In which year?A5) 14 AD.
Here’s a thought …
“Recovery is something that you have to work on every single day and it's something that it doesn't get a day off.”Demi Lovato, born 20th August, 1992.
And a song …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Have a good day.
* OK, Olga: enjoy what you’re doing! (And seriously have a look a Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy: it’s very different. Nothing explodes, apart from Smiley’s marriage …)
† Hmmm … But is Baltimore City in Baltimore County, Debbi? That’s usually the case, here in the UK: the county town, the administrative centre/largest town, is in the county named after it! Just to confuse everyone, the county town of Essex, the capital … is Chelmsford. Go figure! (Oh, technically? Julius Caesar was a god, as well as a politician and general. I get the impression the Ancient Romans took hero worship seriously …)
1 comment:
No, City and County are separate in Baltimore's case. That isn't necessarily the case for every similar city/county combo in the U.S. Things tend to vary from state to state around here. :)
