The Mandalorian — Series 1 Chapter 8 — Redemption — A Review

11th September, 2020.

OK …

I can safely say two things, at the moment.

I’ve had dinner.

Fish and chips, if you must know.

And, right now?   I’m telling you that: through the medium of my blog.

Obviously.

The mild difference?

Is that I’m experimenting with the new Blogger interface.

At the moment, there’ll be a time when I won’t be able to use the legacy version.

So?

Frankly, getting slowly used to the new version — when I don’t have to use it — seems fair enough.

Right now, though?

I have understandable concerns.

I suspect that I won’t be able to use the prepared html links I usually use, nor YouTube embed code.

I have’ve over the past few weeks, I know that.

In that sense?

There’s little change from there.

There is, however, one page that tells me I can use the embed code … if I switch between HTML, and COMPOSE mode: the pen icon in the top left hand corner in this photo.

HTML mode looks like this …

If you’re not used to it … ?

That can be very confusing!

However?

That isn’t necessarily want I wanted to tell you.

You’d possibly guessed.

No, I wanted to tell you about what I’ve just seen on TV.

Yes: the last episode in series one of  The Mandalorian.

~≈¥≈~

Chapter 8Redemption — picks up from Chapter 7: showing us the two unnamed storm troopers who’d kidnapped the Child … killed when IG-11 (Taika Waititi) rescues the Child.

Whilst the Child is being rescued?

The Mandalorian, Cara Dune and Greef Karga (Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and Carl Weathers) are trapped in town: where Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) has them seriously cornered.

It looks like they’re only way out?

Is through the sewers.

It’s only with the help of the Child the group get out … and to the underground lair of the one other Mandalorian left alive.

The Armourer (Emily Swallow).

The Armourer can offer little help …

But can only offer some information.   The Child’s mental powers … ?   Seem to make him kin to an ancient bunch of sorcerers the Mandalorians once fought.

There may well be trouble, before the Child gets to safety …

Now …

There’s two questions.

What did I make of of Redemption?

What did I make of The Mandalorian’s first series?

I have to say: this last episode was both a great second half — it was part two of two, after all.

The characters are nice developed, the acting — and action — is superb, backstory has been filled in …

Frankly, Redemption has nicely rounded out a very entertaining series.

And leaves me looking forward to 30th October, this year.

Season two starts then.

Would you care to join me … ?
