Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29th April, 2021.

29th April, 2021.

Well, it’s official: Neil Robertson is now out of this years Snooker World Championship.

Which is a shame.

I’m not the first to mention his fab Lockdown hairdo!

~≈🎱≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, TrevorMum‡, Debbi^ and Edithª putting in their answers: with Olga, Trevor and Debbi, scoring five out of five, Mum on three and Edith on one.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        29th April, 1958, saw the birth of which actress: Michelle Pfeiffer, Uma Thurman or Kate Mulgrew?

Q2)        29th April, 1955, saw the birth of which actress: Michelle Pfeiffer, Uma Thurman or Kate Mulgrew?

Q3)        29th April, 1970, saw the birth of which actress: Michelle Pfeiffer, Uma Thurman or Kate Mulgrew?

Q4)        29th April, 1986, saw which Duchess buried at Windsor?

Q5)        Finally … ?   29th April, 1863, saw the birth of William Randolph Hearst.   He published what: books, newspapers or poetry?   (Neither he, nor the Duchess mention in Q4?   Had anything to do with Mulgrew, Pfeiffer or Thurman.)
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Graham Wagg was born on 28th April, 1983.   He’s played what for Glamorgan: rounders, baseball or cricket?
A1)        Cricket.

Q2)        28th April, 1974, saw the birth of actress, Penélope Cruz.   She appeared in the 1997 film, Live Flesh/Carne trémula.   Who directed Live Flesh?
A2)        Pedro Almodóvar.

Q3)        Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin and Jan-Carl Raspe were found guilty of four murders: on 28th April, 1977.   The killers were members of what: the Stern Gang, the Red Army Faction or the Provisional Monster Raving Loony Party?
A3)        The Red Army Faction: also known as the Baader-Meinhof Gang.

Q4)        28th April, AD 32, saw the birth of Emperor Otho.   He was the second of four Roman Emperors in the Year of the Four Emperors.   What year was that: AD67, AD68 or AD69?
A4)        AD69.

Q5)        Finally … ?   28th April, 1948, saw the birth of Sir Terry Pratchett. His first adult novel was published in 1976: and called The Dark Side of thewhat?
A5)        The Dark Side of the Sun.   (I checked my shelves, when I wrote that question.   I didn’t have The Dark Side of the Sun, I had to go and buy a copy! Dear gods!)
Here’s a thought …
“A politician will do anything to keep his job-even become a patriot.”
William Randolph Hearst, April 29, 1863 – August 14, 1951.
And a song composed by Duke Ellington …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Oh, blimey!   Wish her well for me, Olga!   Hopefullly, she’ll come out doing well!

†        I’ll try and hit the Happy Birthday button, then, Trevor: as and when.   You know, the Mac version of LibreOffice isn’t quite so invasive …

‡        Hello, Mum!

^        It’s been years since I’ve read it, myself, Debbi.   Come to think of it, it’s been a while since I’ve read Strata, or The Carpet People.   (As I recall?   Strata has an interesting currency: the basic equivalent to a dollar/pound, is the Day note.   You can buy genetic treatment to extend you life by a day, with it.)

ª        It’s been years since I’ve seen the series, myself, Edith.   (Speak without Words?   I’ll have to try And look that up.)

Q4) Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor

Thanks, Paul. I'll keep you posted, although I'm sure we might stop the classes or reduce them when she gets to the exams, once she's done with the English preparation. This year she won't be going for the First, so she will have to work on that next year. Stay well.
