Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 4-4-2021: Yes, Prime Minister

4th April, 2021.

Yep: it’s Easter Sunday: and frankly?

I think it’s going to be a quiet day.

Well … bar the usual family dinner!

Here’s hoping everyone has a happy Easter.

Are you in the UK … ?

If you are, you’re possibly aware there’s plans for what’s known as a COVID passport: a document, digital or otherwise, that will show if you’ve been tested, vaccinated or have have ‘natural immunity.’   If you’ve had it, it other words.

The idea, if I’ve understood it, correctly, is to have some way of guarantee that people with one are disease free.

I think there’s possible problems, there.

Is it going to be digital, or paper?

I know a few people who don’t have smart phones able to deal with an app.

And that there’s a lot of people who couldn’t afford one, let alone know how to use one.

I’m also very aware that — a few years ago — the Government were planning to introduce identity cards: at a hefty individual cost that would’ve made it unaffordable for unemployed people like me.

That’s the problem — or potential problem —I’m looking at.

Is there a price?   How much would it be, if there was?   Would I, as an unemployed person, get help for it?

Out side of any potential human rights issues, it’s a good idea: if it allows people to go out, or get jobs.   It would get the economy moving.

But … ?

I think there’s issues: as there always is with these things.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Trevor†, Mum‡, Debbi^, Edithª putting in their answers: with Trevor, Olga, Debbi and Edith scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1)        Sir Robert Walpole was named as Prime Minister: on 4th April, 1721.   Which party was he from: the Whigs, Tories or Bolsheviks?

Q2)        Strictly speaking, he was Prime Minister of where: the United Kingdom, Great Britain or England?

Q3)        The PM is a member of what: the Toilet Council, Privy Council or Cess Pit?

Q4)        Who was King, when Walpole was PM: George 1st, 2nd or 3rd … ?

Q5)        Walpole was the first Prime Minister.   Who’s the current Prime Minister?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        King Edward was crowned as King of England: on 3rd April, 1043.   He was known as Edward the what: Confessor, Concubine or Cucumber?
A1)        Edward the confessor.

Q2)        Prostitute, Emma Elizabeth Smith, was attacked on 3rd April, 1888.   Some believe she was the first victim of which notorious killer?
A2)        Jack the Ripper.   (Most scholars don’t take this claim seriously.   She herself said she was attacked by a group of men: felt to be members of the gang that controlled her and other prostitutes.)

Q3)        3rd April, 1981, saw the unveiling of the Osborne 1, the world’s first portable what: computer, TV or radio?
A3)        Computer.

Q4)        The original iPad was was released: on 3rd April, 2010.   The iPad is a what: tablet, phone or laptop?
A4)        A tablet.

Q5)        Finally … ?   11.5 million financial documents were leaked: on 3rd April, 2016.   The papers were leaked from a company in which South American country: Argentina, Panama or Chilé?
A5)        Panama.
Here’s a thought …
“All those men have their price.”
Sir Robert Walpole, 26 August 1676 – 18 March 1745.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        I intend to, Olga!   And it’s the same here: we can met with up to six different people, from two different households: outside.   That’s going to be tricky, the weather’s all over the place!

†        There’s still a Brentwood Football club, Trevor?   Good lord!   Oh, did I see you post a selfie on FB, yesterday?   There’s editing features in your phone, if you wanted to get arty.

‡        Hello, Mum!

^        I’m working that out, Debbi!   Oh, that’s a thought, I’ve bought a book called The Five, from Amazon.   It’s about the Ripper’s victims, rather than the Ripper, himself: it could be interesting.   Oh, I’ve found another Creatures tune!

ª        Oh, crikey, Rosemary and Betty Clooney!   Thanks you for that tune: it’s VERY appropriate listening!   I knew George Clooney was their nephew: I never knew Miguel Ferrer was Rosemary’s son!  And he played drums on Keith Moon’s solo album!    Keith Moon’s!   I learn something new, every day.

A5 Oh some clown who is on tea-time telly regularly - Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson – commonly called Boris Johnson.

If I use pictures of myself I prefer them to be natural. That selfie shows that I need a shave. Will have to get the Flymo lawn mower out to remove all that facial hair.

I saw your comment about Jack the Ripper's victims. I read a book about the same topic not long ago, although it wasn't the same one. Very sad stories.
Take care.

Speaking of Keith Moon, have I ever mentioned that we have a neighbor right in our cul-de-sac who's a distant cousin of Moon's? His last name is Moon, and I believe he might still be in contact with the family on your side of the pond! :)
