Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 13-8-2024 — International Left Hander’s Day

13th August, 2024: International Left Hander’s Day.

It’s officially official: it’s International Left Hander’s Day.

Which means … ?

If you’re a fellow southpaw that’s reading this, you’re allowed to swap the buttons around on the family laptop.

Oh … and put the left handed kitchen scissors in the top of the drawer: so right handers pick them up first!

This is not a day for revolution.

It’s a day to tell right handers how it feels*!

On a more serious note … ?

I’ve got a formal hearing, today: over whether I’m due Personal Independence Payment, or PIP.

I am nervous.

Understandably, I think.

I’ve had some helpful advice from a couple of friends.

But … ?

Am still nervous.

I never know if I will get extra help: nor, if I do, how much help.

I don’t know for sure … but I think it was a well known Australian Dr Who girl† who said that ‘if’ was the biggest word in the English language.

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw OlgaMum§ and Debbi¶ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        If you dance badly, you’re said to have two left … what?

Q2)        James Paxton is a left handed what: baseball player, cricketer or boxer?

Q3)        Actress, Rebecca Ferguson, is left handed.   She plays Juliette Nichols in which AppleTV series: Silo, Foundation, For All Mankind or Time Bandits?

Q4)        A left handed compliment is also known as a what-handed compliment?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Matthew 25:33 says the Lord will send the sheep to the right: and what to the left?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        In the UK, 12th August is known as the Glorious Twelfth. In other words, it’s the tradition start of the what hunting season: duck hunting, grouse hunting or haggis hunting?
A1)        Grouse hunting.

Q2)        12th August is the Queen Mother’s Birthday.   Where: Bhutan, Thailand or Japan?
A2)        Thailand.

Q3)        12th August, 1999, saw the birth of Dream.   He’s a what: YouTuber, TikTokker or Instagrammer?
A3)        YouTuber.

Q4)        Tyson Fury was born on 12th August, 1988. He’s a what: boxer, mixed martial artist or karateka?
A4)        A boxer.

Q5)        Finally … ?   Jean-Michel Basquiat died on 12th August, 1988: at the age of twenty-seven. He was a painter from where: Chicago, New York or San Francisco?
A5)        New York.
Here’s a thought …
“I’m left-handed: I can think and feel at the same time.   My feminine side is very highly developed.”
Laurence Fishburne.
A playlist …

And an earworm …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        He says, tactfully … … … … … … … … … … …

Actually, Tegan said “My dad used to say that ‘if’ was the most powerful word in the English language” … but who’s arguing?

Did you mean the Vuitton building, Olga?   You’re right, that is one hell of a venue!   It looks like a giant child has used the Sydney Opera House as a play set!
Hmmm … certainly make jigsaws sound interesting, Olga: I just wish I had a kitchen like your Welsh friends: a central island found be helpful!   (I’ve an old friend in Wales, as well: she tells me her kitchen’s a similar design!)

§        Hello, Mum!

I thought you might appreciate it, Debbi¹!   The irony about the sketch … ?   Is that the very straight Colonel was played by Graeme Chapman, the only gay member of the team!   It’s very silly!

I’m in a couple of left hander’s groups on Facebook, Olga: and had to mention Sydney Opera House.   When I slice bread, the results look like the place: the slices are thick at the top, and thin at the bottom.   I get the impression I’m not the only one who does that.

¹        That’s a thought, Debbi: there’s a card game called Magic: The Gathering doing the rounds: there’s a set of Dr Who themed cards for it.

I’ve JUST had the email: apparently, the hearing has been delayed until the end of September!

Debbi, I see What you mean about The comments!

Sorry to hear about the delay, Paul, and you're right about the building. I had the class with Jordi today and it's all proven a bit chaotic since, so we shall see what tomorrow brings. And Happy Left Hander's Day!
