Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 27th May 2025.

27th May, 2025.

It’s officially official: it’s Tuesday.

Which possibly means we can do a happy dance.
Assuming our hips can take the pace, of course!

At any rate … ?

My sister, Ruth — my nephew’s mother — replaced her old laptop with a ChromeOS-based Chromebook.

Until it gave up the ghost: and got replaced with another one!

I’m going to have a go at resetting it for her: and see if we can sell it on.

I’m mildly nervous about that: it’s a platform I’m unfamiliar with.

So … ?

It’s going to be a learning process.

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga†, Irene‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with Olga, Mum and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Irene on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s five question set, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Here’s a thought …
“The hero is usually someone who has really nothing to do.   He comes out on top, but it’s the heavy who has all the fun.”
Vincent Price, May 27, 1911 – October 25, 1993.
Vincent’s best known song …

And an earworm …

The next ten question set is tomorrow: it’s about the first Old Firm derby!

Comments and answers will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

I hope Jordi and his wife send you a postcard, Olga!   And remind me to dig up Bill Oddie’s phone number, for you … !

You’ll have to let me know what you make of today’s earworm, Irene/Jim!

§        I couldn’t tell you, Debbi: you’d probably need a halfway decent cyber-lawyer!
Probably depends on the robot’s software and hardware.   Is it sophisticated enough  to recognise blackmail as harm, or not?
There was also a thing with a hypothetical poisoned glass of water.   Robot A knows the glass of water on the sideboard is poisoned: so won’t give it to his human owner.   Robot B doesn’t know: and gets ordered to pass the owner a glass of water …
