24th September, 2025.
I think we can safely say it’s turning autumnal.
For a starter?
My feet are freezing: more-so, I’m told, than those of us who aren’t diabetic.
The condition causes poor circulation that shows up — in my case? — as chilly toes.
Slippers help.
Which is not something I was expecting to tell you, when I was in my twenties …
~≈🦶≈~
Which reminds me: those feet were complained about by an ex-girlfriend, back when we were dating.
There was one night, though, that managed to stick in my mind: as we spend the night watching a film called Event Horizon.
Which was a fantastic piece: but flawed, as the director’s plans — to make a two-hour version — were overruled by the studio.
Who insisted on a ninety minute cut.
The missing footage has long since been lost.
That’s a screaming shame.
The version presented is great, but you can spot the flaws with some of the character development: especially with the Sam Neill character, Dr Weir.
Yes: I have got a 4k version of the thing on order.
But … ?
I would dearly love to see that director’s cut.
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Irene‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with Olga, Mum and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Irene on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

He’s seen as which of the Catholic Church’s popes: the second, third or fourth?A1) The second.Q2) The Battle of Haifa was fought: on 23rd September, 1918. Here’s a thought …
“The things that make you strange are the things that make you powerful.”Ben Platt, born September 24, 1993.
And some music …
The next ten question set is on Friday, and about T. S. Eliot.
Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Cheers for the correction, Olga! I honestly hadn’t noticed the mistake. Next week’s optician appointment should help … …
Yeah: air fryers are fairly simple: at least my one is! But they’re new technology, so we’re all still learning about the things.
Good luck with the Fitness Party! (I’m getting mental images: of Jane Fonda and Diana Moran … !)
I’ll keep my fingers crossed about the Saturday meeting: hopefully, it’ll have something useful for you! (I keep wishing my Aunty Bella were still alive: she looks after Grandma for year, and could possibly offer some advice.)
† Hello, Mum!
‡ Morning, Irene: how IS the day … ?
§ I think that’s most politicians, Debbi! (Apparently, Ghislaine Maxwell says she saw Kennedy at some of Jeffrey Epstein’s parties: but saw him do nothing inappropriate. She would say that, wouldn’t she … ?)
Oh, there’s ten question sets on the 26th, 29th and 30th. I think you’ll like the 29th’s …

I'll keep you posted on Saturday's workshop. I now how to cover an event for the radio on Saturday afternoon, so it will be quite busy.
The Fitness Party went well, as usual, and it was sunny, but pretty cool, so good for exercising. I almost lost my mother on the way there, though, but hopefully we found each other.
Do make sure you take care of your feet. I am very fond of warm slippers, even though it is not so cold here.
Have I mentioned how much I love the British sense of humour? :) Only a few times.
Yes, she would do that, wouldn't she? :)
