29th October, 2025.
News broke for Dr Who fans, yesterday.
A piece for the Radio Times confirmed, yesterday, that Disney will no longer be involved with the show’s production, after The War Between the Land and the Sea, airs.
And that a Christmas special, written by Russell T. Davies, will air in 2026.
I’m looking forward to the special.
I’ve mixed feelings about Disney pulling out.
Oh the one hand … ?
I got the impression some of the creative decisions were influenced by their involvement,
I also feel the deal was badly structured.
We should have got three series and associated Xmas specials: which would have given Ncuti’s Doctor a fuller story arc.
Rather than two series, spin-off and specials, that didn’t.
By contrast?
The extra funding was welcome.
As was the fact Disney+ gave the show a centralised home for international viewers.
Other all, though … ?
I’m glad to hear the show’s survived.
My only concerns?
What will happen for international fans?
Where will the show be internationally aired, from Christmas 2026?
Equally to the point?
Once the Disney deal is done, and War Between, aired?
Where will international fans find Ncuti’s episodes?
Questions, questions …
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

A5) John Humphrys. (He was on the show from 1987 to 2019, was the one reporter politicians were genuinely scared of, and the first reporter on the scene of the Aberfan disaster. Before he joined the programme, obviously …)
“As soon as war is declared it will be impossible to hold the poets back.”And a song …
From Tiger at the Gates, by Jean Giraudoux, 29 October 1882 – 31 January 1944.
The next ten question set is on Friday: it’s about “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Where possible, AI is avoided when writing these questions.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum!
† It’s certainly an option, Olga … but I’d have to source the part, first: and as we got the blind from Wilkos, I don’t know if they’re made any more.
Still … my windows are all standard sizes, and take standard sized blind: replacing the whole thing would be easy to do.
(You, clumsy? Never!)
‡ Glad to hear it, Debbi … ! (Oh … did you hear about the 2026 Xmas special … ?)
