Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21-1-2026 — On Telly

21st January, 2026: Telly Savalas.

OK … it is officially official: my nephew was over last night.

He’s helpful when it comes to cooking oven ready pizza: but the pair of us could not work something out.

Are you supposed to put the garlic butter on the dough balls, when you’re cooking them: or after you’ve cooked them?

The label on the back of the packet only says that you have to “Set aside the garlic dip to warm to room temperature”.

Which wasn’t necessarily helpful!

At any rate … ?

Jude’s latest video is now out.

If you have a clue about doughballs?

Leave us a comment, on the video!

Today is a day that I’m expecting a phone call from my new work coach, my new Job Centre case worker.

This afternoon, in point of fact.

They’re the second new case worker in the space of three months.

I can understand new staff need training: and that the long-term unemployed can be good clients to be trained on …

But it’s nice to deal with a familiar member of staff: that continuity of service is reassuring, I think.

Hmmm …

The discussions — should I use italics, there, or quotation marks? — let’s start again, there!

The discussions over Greenland continue: with the US president heading for the World Economic Forum, today.

With Greenland’s Industry Minister going on the record to say “We do not want to be Americans”.

I’m not surprised.

Outside reasons of patriotism, outside a desire to not be an American colony, Greenland has free healthcare for its citizens.

Becoming part of the US, however it’s done, however it’s arranged, whatever assurances the greedy idiot in Washington wants to give?

Becoming part of the US means losing that free healthcare, and gaining the USA’s famously expensive system.

Why would anyone in their right minds want to do that … ?

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Telly Savalas was born on 21st January.   Of which year of the 1920s?

Q2)        He played Blofeld in On Her Majesty's Secret Service.   Who played James Bond in On Her Majesty's Secret Service?

A1)        Meat Loaf.

A5)        Iceland.
Here’s a thought …
“I don’t play that far away from myself because then I think people would say I was acting.”
Telly Savalas.
And and a song that was on telly …

The next ten question set is on 4th February: it’s about the Aldous Huxley novel, Brave New World.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        It sounds like you need the patience of a saint, Olga: and a good memory.   And possibly mildly autistic, to follow all the procedures!    Do this, then that, then the other thing!   Do it this way if it’s Tuesday … Oy!
Yeah, I can imagine it is to stop the patients getting the keys.   If I recall, there’s been cases of it in the UK’s prisons: a warden would forget where he left the keys, and a sharp prisoner would get hold of them.   As long as the inmate could remember the route out, he’d be laughing …

        Hello, Mum!

If the Wikipedia entry on the site’s correct, Debbi§, YouTube had forty-eight hours worth of video uploaded every minute … back in 2011.   What it’s like now. I don’t know …
Oh, JUST so you and Olga know, Debbi, I’ve updated the Ten Question list: there’s sets on the 4th, 6th, 14th, 27th, and the 28th February, and 1st March.   I know that’s three in a row, on the last three dates: but the one on 1st March is about Nebraska: and the last one about a US state.   (I wasn’t sure if the image had got through on Twitter/X.)

§        Going totally off piste, Debbi … ?   From what I’m hearing, Disney haven’t announced an air date for The War Between the Land and the Sea.   Did you need a lorry load … ?

Sorry, Paul. A bit of a complicated day today, and I have to attend one of those training sessions for carers tomorrow, but I'll catch up soon.
