Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 2nd March 2026.

2nd February, 2026.

Right … I am officially in a rush: to get to both my Monday morning weight management meeting, and to this afternoon’s blood tests!

The reason for the rush … ?

Is simply the fact today’s introduction video took a dog’s age to upload!

Why, I don’t know.

But I suspect taking time, adjusting the various tweaks in Final Cut Pro, didn’t help!

As a quick thought … ?

Having Avantgarde’s “OKP Cipher” on in the background, helps.

It’s nicely upbeat: which I find helps me to type, rapidly.

Hey … ho!

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring ten out of ten.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        2nd March, 2026, is a Monday.   When was it last a Monday: 2019, 2020 or 2021?

Q2)        The Oscar Selfie was taken on 2nd March: at that year’s Academy Awards.   2nd March of which year: 2012, 2013 or 2014?

Q3)        Moscovium was placed onto the periodic table on 2nd March, 2017.   It’s what: transgenic, transactinide or transuranic?

Q4)        NASA launched Pioneer 10 on 2nd March.   Of which year of the 1970s?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Kurt Weill was born on 2nd March, 1900.   Where: Germany, Austria or Lichtenstein?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        Nebraska joined the USA on 1st March.   Of which year of the 1860s?
A1)        1867.

Q2)        It was which state to do so: the 36th, 37th or 38th?
A2)        The 37th.

Q3)        Nebraska is only one of two states to have joined on the 1st March.   What, in 1803, was the other?
A3)        Ohio.   People write quizzes about Ohio.

Q4)        What’s the capital of Nebraska: Lincoln, Omaha or Bellevue?
A4)        Lincoln.

Q5)        What’s Nebraska’s largest city by population: Lincoln, Omaha or Bellevue?
A5)        Omaha.

Q6)        True or false: there’s a place in Nebraska called Wahoo.   True or false?
A6)        True.   (It has nothing to do with Yazoo, Yahoo or Halloo: it’s Wikipedia entry calls it both a city, and a town.)

Q7)        Nebraska’s Legislature is what: unicameral or bicameral?
A7)        Unicameral.   (In other words, it has just one chamber.)

Q8)        Penny Teller is from Omaha, Nebraska.   She’s a character in which US comedy: The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon or Stuart Fails to Save the Universe?
A8)        The Big Bang Theory.

Q9)        Richard James Hart lived in Nebraska: and worked as a prohibition agent.   There’s an irony, there: as he was whose older brother: John F Kennedy’s, Al Capone’s or Carrie Nation’s?
A9)        Al Capone’s.   (Hart picked up the nickname of ‘Two Guns’ Hart.   It was on a par with ‘Scarface’.)

Q10)        Finally … ?   Neal Hefti was born in Nebraska.   He wrote the theme to which TV series: Batman, Wonder Woman or The Flash?
A10)        Batman.   Inevitably, he get’s a mention in a quiz.
Here’s a thought …
“Certain people in the United States are driving nails into this structure of our relationship, then cutting off the heads.”
Mikhail Gorbachev, (2 March 1931 – 30 August 2022).
And a Kurt Weill composition …

The next ten-question set is on 25th March: it’s about Greece.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Welcome back, Olga!   It sounds like you had an exciting weekend!
Yes, I knew about Penny’s surname: I went with Teller, as that at least let me hang the question, correctly.   I also get the impression it’s one thing fans have talked about for years§ … !

Hello, Mum!   (Ten out of ten: well done!)

‡        ‘On edge’?   That’s one way of putting it, Debbi!   I just hope the president doesn’t order the use of nuclear weapons: that would be a very good way of finding out if Iran does have any.   Either way … ?   It sounds potentially like the Gulf Wars, again.
Apparently?   Sir Kier Starmer’s allowed US use of UK bases in Akrotiri, in Cyprus, for ‘limited defensive use’.   I don’t like that, not one bit: as much as I didn’t like the War on Terror, and the Afghan invasion.
Oh, I think I’ve figured out how to add a transition: and have it not affect the audio.   It looks like I need to tinker with the sound settings in a separate pane: rather than adjusting some timeline sliders, the way iMovie lets you do …

§        It puts me in mind of Klingon, Olga.   Apparently, the fans who’ve been designing the language, have been arguing about the Klingon word for ‘mercy’ for a long time: ever since they published the Klingon version of the Bible …
