Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26th April 2026.

26th April, 2026.

I think we can safely say I have plans.
Although they’re not plans to take over the world.

I wouldn’t have the budget!

No: instead of taking over the world, I’m planning a piece on ripping — copying — Blu-ray discs, and circumventing the copy protection in the process.

I’ve done the script outline.

Now all I need to do is script the thing, record the video footage, edit the thing together, render, and upload the results to YouTube.

One day … ?

I shall get a life …

~≈⏺️≈~

There’s been an incident at this year’s White House Correspondents Dinner.

Apparently?

A gunman attempted to break in and shoot some of America’s senior political figures: including the 47th President.

I’m …

I’m glad the shooter’s been caught alive.

The authorities can ask him what his motives were.

There’s a but.

This is — what? — about the second or third time someone’s tried taking a potshot at the President.

I could ask what the President’s doing wrong.

I don’t know.

But?

The King’s upcoming visit to the US looks increasingly unwise: the President’s not safe to be around …

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring six out of six, and Mum on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        The CIH virus went into operation: on 26th April, 1999.   It was mostly spread by infected what: software, USB sticks or cassettes?

Q2)        Reactor №4 blew, on 26th April, 1986: at the Chernobyl nuclear reactor. The remains of the reactor are now in which country: Belarus, Russia or Ukraine?

Q3)        26th April is the feast day of Saint Trudpert.   He’s usually depicted holding a what: sword, axe or large caliber machine gun … ?

Q4)        26th April is Union Day.   Where: Tanzania, Togo or Tunisia?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Atlético de Madrid, S.A.D was founded on 26th April, 1903.   It’s a what: cricket club, football club or baseball team?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        25th April, 2007, saw the funeral of which former Russian leader: Mikhail Gorbachev, Yuri Andropov or Boris Yeltsin?
A1)        Boris Yeltsin.

Q2)        It was the first funeral of a Russian leader since 1894, to be sanctioned by whom: the Roman Catholic Church, the Russian Orthodox Church or the Church of the Tin Vagabond?
A2)        The Russian OrthodoxChurch.

Q3)        25th April is Freedom Day: in which Iberian nation?
A3)        Portugal.

Q4)        25th April is the feast day of Saint Mark the Evangelist.   Saint Mark is the patron saint of whom: barristers, solicitors or judges?
A4)        Barristers.   If I’ve understood things correctly, a barrister could represent you in higher courts, but a solicitor couldn’t.   However, a solicitor could deal directly with a client, and the barrister: but the barrister couldn’t deal directly with the client.   A solicitor could also advertise, or solicit.   (You can read more about Mark, here.)

Q5)        According to the United Nations, 25th April is International what Day: Delegates Day, Diplomats Day or Decisions Day?
A5)        Delegates Day.

Q6)        Finally?   Earl Bostic was born on 25th April, 1913.   He played what: an alto saxophone, a tenor sax or a baritone sax?
A6)        An alto saxophone.
Here’s a thought …
“A lot of guys are more skilful than I am with the guitar.   A lot of it is over my head.   But some of it is not what I want to hear out of the guitar.”
Duane Eddy, April 26, 1938 – April 30, 2024.
And a tune …

The next ten question set will be announced when ready.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (It was Portugal, barristers and the alto sax, Mum, rather than Judges, Spain and the Baritone sax)

†        It sounds like Foreign Correspondent is worth watching, Debbi: I’ll have to bookmark it for later.   At least … for after I’ve bought Village of the Damned!   (Oh, there was a John Carpenter directed version, in 1995.   I wasn’t impressed: it had something of a happy ending, an ending that’s unjustified by Wyndham’s text.)
