26th May, 2026: Miles Davis.
Right … who on Earth was that all about … ?
“What?”, I hear you ask?
Someone rang my doorbell, this morning: at god knows what time of the morning.
Not that I mind … but it would be nice if someone said something.
Heigh … ho …

I think we can safely say the UK’s having a heatwave: as, the day before yesterday, reached record temperatures.
32·3℃, in some parts of the country.
Yesterday, parts of the country reached 34·8℃.
And today … ?
There’s predictions it’s going to hit 35℃.
I think I’m going to have to do a couple of things.
Have salad for dinner: turning on the oven’s going to be uncomfortable.
Make sure I put my newly cleaned t-shirts on to the airer: rather than in the tumbler.
Oh … and think of other ways to cool my flat.
Today’s going to be warm …
Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Irene† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring four out of five.
The correct answer to yesterday’s fourth question, about the 12th Man, was ‘referee’.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here’s a thought …
“Is that what the critics are digging? Them critics better stop having coffee.”Miles Davis.
And an LP …
The next ten question sets will be on 31st May, and on 3rd, 7th, 11th and 12th June: they’re about Trinity Sunday, Liverpool football club, “The Dreaming City”, the World Cup and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.
AI is avoided when writing these questions.
Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum! (A 12th¶ Man is a biased referee, Mum.)
† Morning, Irene! (The other 12th¶ man is a biased referee, Irene!)
‡ Yep, you’re WAY off base, there, Debbi: the 12th¶ man’s a biased referee in a game of football … rather than anything from cricket. I can get sarcastic, if you want … !
¶ In retrospect? I’m pretty sure the phrase was used in the Wikipedia entry on the term: it looks like the entry has been changed, or removed! I think I’ll have to keep my eye peeled …
