The Daily Teaser …

You know, we could have a situation, here.

I’ve got the news on in the background and — apparently — it looks like we have a potential situation: it seems Iceland and the Farœ Islands have upped their mackerel quotas.

You know what this means, don’t you … ?

It’s the Cod Wars, all over again … !

Oh, and according to reports, yesterday, visits to libraries are down, and sexually transmitted diseases are up. VERY fishy!

Given that it’s raining, and that Brentwood MP, Eric Pickles is obviously running for Dibley Parish Council by complaining against unnecessary signs, this could be a very bad Thursday …

‹‹‹◊›››

But lets get getting on, shall we … ?

Before I go into a really strange diversion about kippers*.

“California is a tragic country - like Palestine, like every Promised Land.”

“I am a camera with its shutter open, quite passive, recording, not thinking.”

“”I'll bet Shakespeare compromised himself a lot; anybody who's in the entertainment industry does to some extent.”

“Life is not so bad if you have plenty of luck, a good physique, and not too much imagination.”

“One should never write down or up to people, but out of yourself.”

“What irritates me is the bland way people go around saying, 'Oh, our attitude has changed. We don't dislike these people any more.' But by the strangest coincidence, they haven't taken away the injustice; the laws are still on the books.”

Quotes by Christopher Isherwood born August 26 1904.

The Great Dublin Whiskey Fire of 1875.

It can be found at http://whiskeyfire.typepad.com/whiskey_fire/2006/11/streams_of_whis.html

It is attached to a quite fine blog, as well.
