The Daily Teaser — 12-9-2013: Hey, Hey … !

Bloody Hell!

I have to admit, I have a bit of TV on, from last night: called The Wipers Times.

Fascinating stuff: and based on the true story of the satirical magazine of the same name.

Fascinating …

And gruesomely tragic.

This is, after all, about a satirical magazine made and produced by frontline troops during World War 1: including from on the trenches at the Battle of The Somme.

And if THAT doesn’t make you think … ?

Well … you’re a better man than I … !

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: along with scoring five out of five, she also confessed she’d almost forgotten the anniversary.

Let’s see how she — and you — do with today’s rather musical questions, shall we?   Here they are, along with the ‘How To’, License and video …

Q1) 12th September, 1966, saw the debut episode of The Monkees aired on US tv.   But on which US TV station … ?
Q2) More to the point, the series was all about a fictional band called what … ?
Q3) Name any of the band’s members.
Q4) The series last episode was shown on Labour Day of which year of the 1960s … ?
Q5) In which year of the 1970s was the band’s last recording session, in its original lineup … ?
Q6) Finally … what was the bands’ only UK number 1 … ?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 11th September saw the notorious attacks on the World Trade Centre, in New York.   In which year … ?
A1) 2001.
Q2) Name either of the flights that crashed into the World Trade Centre.
A2) American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175.
Q3) Which of the Towers collapsed first: North or South … ?
A3) The South Tower.
Q4) A third plane, American Airlines Flight 77, was crashed into where … ?
A4) The Pentagon Building, in Virginia.
Q5) Finally … what informal name was to the World Trade Centre site, in the aftermath of the attacks … ?
A5) Ground Zero.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“We may be the only group legitimately fighting the thing which most groups claim to be totally anti, and that’s establishment. I mean, we may have been the only one to have won. Because we actually did. We hadn’t seen a royalty check or anything. We were on top; we were number 1. And we finally went in … and we said ‘you do it our way, or we quit’. And that’s all there is to it.”
Mike Nesmith, speaking of his time with the band.
And with this tune …

Have a good day …

*        I’ll look forward to it, Debbi: chin up … ! :D
