The Daily Teaser — 19-1-2014: Really Pants … !

It get’s worse, doesn’t it … ?

Folks in the UK will know, of course, about the disappearance of three-year-old, Mikaeel Kular.

But it’s official: his mother, Rosdeep has been charged in connection with his death.

That’s …

Well, the death of any child is a tragedy: compounded by one age old question.

How on EARTH could a mother be involved in their own child’s death … ?

It’s beyond me, I know that … !

Let’s move on, shall we?

~≈Å≈~

With Debbi* getting the hang of her new computer, it meant yesterday’s Teaser was quiet: with no-one putting in their answers.

So, let’s see how you do with today’s really pants questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 19th January, 1935, saw Coopers, Inc, start selling their briefs.   In which US city: New York, Chicago or New Orleans?
Q2) What’s the generic North American term for those briefs … ?
Q3) The items in questions are called ‘what’ fronts in the UK … ?
Q4) Coopers, Inc, are now called what … ?
Q5) More to the point, they started out, selling socks to which forestry workers?
Q6) If you’re not wearing underwear, you’re said to be going … what … ?
Q7) Which Bach piece is — arguably — about an item of female underwear … ?
Q8) Subligaculum was underwear worn by whom: Ancient Romans, Ancient Greeks or Ancient Egyptians?
Q9) If you’re wearing ‘temple garments,’ you’re wearing the underwear appropriate to members of which religion … ?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q2) What’s the biggest island in the Hawaiian Island chain … ?

Q3) Which of the Islands is the only one where Hawaiian is spoken as the main language: Maui, Oahu or Niihau … ?
A3) Ni’ihau: with it’s huge population of 130 …
Q4) Liliuokalani was the last royal ruler of Hawaii.   Was Liliuokalani a king or queen?
A4) Queen.
Q5) Finally … Hawaii is one of two US states not to share a land border with any other US state.   What’s the other US state to have that distinction?
A5) Alaska.   (Although, given where it is … ?   I think Hawaii has the better climate … )
Enjoy those.

I’ll leave you with this tune …

And this thought from singer, Ellie Goulding …
“I never expected to get the Tom Jones treatment and it amazes me that I do.   Strangely it’s women who throw their underwear at me when I’m performing live.   My male fans tend to be quite shy.   My female fans are wild.   I never know what to do with all the lingerie that lands at my feet.   Maybe I should open a shop.”
Ellie Goulding.
Have a good day … !

*        Oh, I’ve emailed you a few tips, Debbi: you’ll probably find them helpful!   (Migration Assistant’s going to be the useful thing to find and use, though: you’ll be able to use it to transfer things over.   Over the next few days, I’ll try and do a quickie guide to show you some of the keyboard combinations that insert special characters: things like ~, ±, and ∂, to give you examples.)
