The Daily Teaser — 14-1-2014

You know, I like my sleep, I really do.

There’s times …

Well, there’s times I don’t.

Especially when I can’t actually drop of.

As I couldn’t, last night.

Lord knows what’s happening there: but just recently, getting to sleep’s been tricky.

I’m assuming that — in part — working shifts doesn’t help.

After all, getting to bed one in the morning, some nights, probably doesn’t help.

The pleasures of a working life, eh … ?

~≈Á≈~

But let’s get a move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring four out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 14th January, 1967, was the date of the Human Be-In: one of the big events of the 1960s.   The Be-In took place in Golden Gate Park.   In which US city is Golden Gate Park?
Q2) Underground chemist, Owsley Stanley, distributed quite a lot of what, at the Be-In?

Q6) Finally … 14th January, 1960, saw the founding of the Australian Reserve Bank: Australia’s central bank, and banknote issuer.   What’s the name of Australia’s currency?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A3) The Endeavour.
Q4) 13th January, 1866, saw the birth of noted mystic, George Gurdjieff.   In what’s now where: Armenia, Azerbaijan or Georgia?
A4) Armenia.
Q5) Finally … 13th January, 1955, saw the birth of writer, Jay McInerney.   Which of his novels was turned into a 1988 film, with Michael J Fox?
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“Shakespeare has more wisdom and insight about our lives, about how to live and how not to live, how to forgive and how to understand our fellow creatures, than any religious tract. One hundred times more than the Bible. I’m sorry to say that. But over and over again in the plays there is an understanding of the human condition that doesn’t exist in religious books.”

Trevor Nunn, 14 January 1940.
And this song …

Enjoy your day.

And get some sleep … !
