The Daily Teaser — 14-8-2015

Well, it’s Friday.

Pay day, in other words.

AND a day off!

Which is nice.

Not that I’ll be doing much more than paying bills, and shopping.

Oh, and possibly re-ordering season 2 of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

I ordered that, last week: only to receive — on Wednesday — a copy of the movie.   Boy, I’m glad Amazon do a free returns service!

Oh, and talking of bills … ?   I’m probably going to have to put a few extra quid on my gas meter.

Would you believe I’ve had my heating on, this morning?

I’ve had my heating on, this morning.   It’s August.

And it’s surprisingly nippy!

I can’t help think that — if The jet stream carries on behaving like this — September is going to be interesting …

But let’s get moving on, shall we?

Yes, let’s … !

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring eight out of ten.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 14th August, 1370, saw Emperor Charles the 4th grant city privileges to what’s now Carlsbad: or Karlovy Vary, in its native language.   Carlsbad is in which European country?
Q2) An audio recording of The Lost Chord became one of the first recordings ever played: on 14th August, 1888.   Who wrote The Lost Chord?

Q5) Finally … 14th August, 1975, saw the debut of the Rocky Horror Picture Show: at the Westwood Theatre, in Los Angeles.   The world’s longest released film was c0-written by Richard O’Brian.   Who did he play, in the film?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A10) The angel,  Gabriel.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“Filmmakers and critics wrote about each other and sometimes very harshly. This no longer exists.”

Wim Wenders, born 14 August 1945.
And, as it’s, effectively, the birthday of The Rocky Horror Show, this tune …

Enjoy your day …
