According to this pice on the BBC’s news site, Virgin Media’s internet service went down, yesterday.

I’m curious to know what happened: assuming Virgin can do that.

I think the last time I saw something like this, it was a couple of bank outages … where engineers at the server farm pulled out the wrong plug.

I’m wondering if it’s something like that.

Or someone playing Silly Buggers, and attacking 5g towers … !

*        I knew there were a few dry pubs about, Trevorª: I wouldn’t mind seeing a few more, to be frank, but I don’t know that there’s a market.   Not in the UK, at any rate.   I know Moore country, in Tennessee, is a dry county.   Which is ironic: it’s home to the Jack Daniels distillery.   (You can make it, there: you just can’t sell it.)   Weren’t the Frys, the chocolate making ones, Quakers?   I’ll have to look them up …

†        Yeah, I realised what had happened, as soon as I got your comment, Olgaª.   I should’ve realised, quicker: they’re both very different people!   And Ms Portman wasn’t in The Fades^ now I think of it.   I’m going to have to sit down with Léon, though: Jean Reno was very watchable, Portman, fantastic, and Gary Oldman … deserved an Oscar!

‡        That’s the puppy, Debbiª!   It looks like it’s a popular location for shooting.   It’s a definite, it’s used in Them!   And quite a few other things.   Is it just me, or does Hollywood using the artificial  river bed seem … well … symbolic.   Of something.   Now, about Maryland’s state song … ?   Isn’t that a re-written version of Oh Christmas Tree … ?
