14th January, 2025: World Logic Day.
Hmmm …
Did I mention I was at my weight management meeting, yesterday?
I was at my weight management meeting, yesterday!
And … ?
I’ve not lost weight: but I’ve not gained, either.
I’ve mixed feelings about that: after all, my weight’s been on a downward trend for the past few weeks.
It’s … well …
‘Hmmm … ’ seems to be the best way of putting it.
Let’s move on.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) According to UNESCO, 14th January is World Logic Day. UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural what?Q2) Formal logic includes the study of logical whats: truths, lies or video tape?Q3) A logical argument consists of two premises and one … what?Q4) Some non-classical forms of logic are called what: deviant logic, delicate logic or decimal logic?Q5) Finally … ? Computability theory is a branch of what: Aristotelian Logic, Mathematical Logic or Classical Logic?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 13th January is the feast day of Saint Mungo, the patron saint of where: Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness?A1) Glasgow.Q2) The city is in which of the UK’s home nations?A2) Scotland.Q3) More to the point, it’s on the banks of which river: the Clyde, the Ness or the Tweed?A3) The Clyde.Q4) Saint Mungo is on the city’s coat of arms. As is which bird: a robin, a crow or a chough?Q5) Finally … ? The city is famous for the ‘Old Firm’ rivalry. Name either one of the two football teams that make up the Old Firm.
Here’s a thought …
“Mr. Spock, remind me to tell you that I’m sick and tired of your logic.”Dr McCoy, speaking in “The Galileo Seven” episode of Star Trek.
And a Supertramp song …
The next ten question set on 29th January: it’s about Desert Island Discs.
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum … !
† I think the regulations need constant work, Olga. There doesn’t seem to be much consistency over the years, I know that. As I recall, when the original residents — me included — moved in, we were advised to get to a fire assembly point: ours was in the car park, next to the building. We’re now advised to stay put: which, post-Grenfell, seems bad …
As for water … ? I think we have one fire riser at each end of the street: but couldn’t tell you if I’m right.
And I think you’re right on the weight medication front. I’m just grateful that the one I’m on, Mounjaro, is something that — in theory — I can stay on: there’s no two year NHS imposed limit, as there is with semaglutide.

Q1) Organization
Q2) truth (I must have told you before that I am a big fan of ‘Sex, Lies and Videotape’. I’m not sure that many people will get the reference nowadays).
Q3) Conclusion
Q4) deviant logic
Q5) Mathematical Logic
Unfortunately, regulations don't always change for the better. Expediency doesn't always take people's best interests into account.
I didn't realise Semaglutide had a two year cap... It will be a nightmare, because, as you have already notice, although all these new medications have work in a similar way, their side-effects and effectivity profiles are quite different, and not everybody will do as well on one as on another.
Of course, I missed yesterday's. Again.

BTW, I always thought Spock deserved a break from McCoy'a attitude.
He's half-Vulcan. What do you want from the guy? :)
