It’s a definite, I think: I’m getting old.

Yes, I know it was my birth, last week.   You didn’t say ‘Happy Birthday, I notice!’

At any rate … !   I’m getting older.

I can tell that … because I’m taking more medication, every bloody year!

Levothyroxine, metformin, assorted jollops for depression and a dodgy left leg, stating, aspirins … 

Bleugh … !

But at least I’m free of Corona virus!

Which is a good thing: apparently, if you’re male, over fifty, or diabetes?   You’re more likely yo either catch it, or suffer badly with it!

Oy, veh … 

There’s an upside, at least.

I’ve not got a ticket for this year’s (cancelled) World Wide Developers Conference, Apple’s big show and tell.

Or any of the cancelled sports events.

I don’t have to fiddle about getting a refund … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 13-3-2020: Uranus

13th March, 2020.

It’s definite … it’s Friday.

And frankly?

I’m exacting a quiet Friday: as I’d cancelled my weight management class, last week … in the expectation I’d be having a blood test, today.

I’ve had to cancel that: as it’s unneeded.

As I mentioned yesterday — in this post — I’ve finally been diagnosed with diabetes.

Type two.

And been prescribed Metformin for it.

Hopefully?

The diarrhoea will die down soon!

I’ve just spotted this piece on the BBC’s news site.

Seemingly, cyber criminals are taking advantage of the Coronavirus outbreak and sending out Corona themed spam.

Those of you who read Nik Nak's Old Peculiar on a regular basis?

Will probably realise I usually put in an introductory video in at the start of a post.

At least, I have done for a couple of years, now.

The result of being gifted a desktop with a webcam.

It's made something of a difference to my YouTube channel, I know that.

Viewers get to see more of me ...

At any rate ... ?

I'm out of work.

Recently been given a laptop ... without a webcam.

So I'm in Brentwood Library ... blogging old style ...

Remember, a few days ago, now, that I’d been provisionally diagnosed with diabetes?

And need to arrange a second, confirmatory, blood test: for tomorrow?

I had the official call from my GP, last night: I don’t need the blood tests.

She’s confirmed I’ve got diabetes: and has arranged for a course of Metformin for me.

Apparently?   It’s not recommend for those who drink a lot.

Not an issue for me.

Oh, and it can cause diarrhoea.

That’s got an upside: I needed to lose weight …

Oh, something that cropped up in the news, today?

Apparently, in a recent case against a former local politician — for possession of indecent images of children — the police made a bit of a cockup … if you’ll excuse the phrase.

Seemingly?

West Yorkshire Police had a hard drive of the offender’s — complete with tons of indecent images — locked up in a safe for some fourteen years.

And didn’t hand it in until after the offender — a former Mayor of Leeds — was gaoled in 2017.

I’m very aware I’m not infallible: as are you, him, her, the police, and everyone else.

But that … ?

Seems a bit of a big one …

Right … it’s Wednesday, and I’m feeling bored, already.

I do know I’ll be spending a lot of time on a computer.

Partly?   Recording video for the Teaser, and partly … ?

Job Hunting.

The fact I can now access the Universal Credit account, the account I have to log my job applications and interviews on, and do that from both my desktop and laptop.

Is definitely handy.

I’ve got the Fun boy Three’s Tunnel of Love, banging through my head.

It’s possibly one of the angriest and most bitter tunes put to vinyl.

I’m just wondering … given Terry Hall — the band’s lead singer and main song writer — also performed Too Much, Too Young?

You have to wonder what was going on …
