Remember, a few days ago, now, that I’d been provisionally diagnosed with diabetes?
And need to arrange a second, confirmatory, blood test: for tomorrow?
I had the official call from my GP, last night: I don’t need the blood tests.
She’s confirmed I’ve got diabetes: and has arranged for a course of Metformin for me.
Apparently? It’s not recommend for those who drink a lot.
Not an issue for me.
Oh, and it can cause diarrhoea.
That’s got an upside: I needed to lose weight …

Oh, something that cropped up in the news, today?
Apparently, in a recent case against a former local politician — for possession of indecent images of children — the police made a bit of a cockup … if you’ll excuse the phrase.
Seemingly?
West Yorkshire Police had a hard drive of the offender’s — complete with tons of indecent images — locked up in a safe for some fourteen years.
And didn’t hand it in until after the offender — a former Mayor of Leeds — was gaoled in 2017.
I’m very aware I’m not infallible: as are you, him, her, the police, and everyone else.
But that … ?

Take care, Paul. I know a few people who take Metformin and didn't get any side-effects, so fingers crossed! Here the situation is getting interesting. They've decided to close all schools and that includes language schools, so after tomorrow we won't be able to attend to continue with the course. We've reached the half point, but we need to complete the teaching part (we have taught 3 hours so far, and we need to teach another 3 to a different group of students). They will tell us tomorrow what to do and were talking to Cambridge to see what could be done, as they are planning on continuing the classes online, but that will not sort the issue with the classes. It's complicated, because most of the students have come from abroad and some of them were going to leave immediately after the course, or shortly after, so although they are saying, at the moment, that the closing of the schools will only be for two weeks, some people won't be able to stay around after that. And, of course, there are also people who can't go back home because they won't allow flights in. A bloody mess, to say the least.
So, for the time being I'll still be busy, but from home, and I'm not sure how we'll manage to complete the thing (in theory, if we do everything else, we'd only have the lessons to teach aftewards, but if that would work, I'm not sure, although the course organiser was saying they'd had the same situation with schools and students in Cambridge, so we shall see. The course is pretty good, I must say, but there's no much they can do about the situation.
I'm sure you'll feel much better once the sugar is under control.
