Okaaaay …
Now, if you hadn’t guessed I’m a “Doctor Who” fan, by now, you really haven’t been paying attention.
Have you?
And, like many a fan, I’ve been watching the “Greatest Moments” documentary on BBC3, for the past couple of weeks.
And I’ve got to confess, I’ve been unimpressed.
Hmmm …
Maybe that’s too strong a word.
Usually the various “Dr Who: Confidential” episodes are entertaining “Making Of” pieces and good fun; partly because they show the enthusiasm of the people making the show, as well as the technical side of what goes into an episode.
But I don’t necessarily think that’s what they were trying to do with these.
I’m thinking the “Confidential” crew were going — considering we know what’s to happen at Christmas — were going for a retrospective.
And I don’t know if I was completely happy with that; the three episodes seemed a little shallow for my satisfaction.
But at least — when the narrator of the piece was talking about a certain villain — we got a definite hint that the Master will be making a re-appearance, in December.
What do I mean, hint?
I mean, it’s only been all over the net, for the past three or four months, thanks to the sterling efforts of the Life, Doctor Who & Combom Blog.
How on Earth he does it …
But I’m going sideways, here, aren’t I?
What I’m trying to say is simply this …
That the “Dr Who’s Greatest Moments” was interesting and nice to see.
But it wasn’t the knock out piece of work I’ve come to expect.
Maybe next time …
