You know, that’s a weird thing to see happen.

Well …

Weird … and sad …

You see, I’ve got to admit, I was in the middle writing this post, when news came in.

That Democrat Representative, Gabrielle Giffords, had been shot, whilst do some constituency work: something she called ‘Congress on your Corner’.

I can only offer my sympathies to her family.

But where it seems strange to me , is that the timing seemed vaguely foreboding.

And it’s the first instance I can think of, of a politician here in the west, being shot.

For whatever reason, I should add.

According to the BBC’s Mark Mardell, there’s already been some frantic internet action, mostly blaming Sarah Palin.

US politics definitely makes democracy in the UK look tame, I know that.
