The Daily Teaser — 17-8-2011

You know, I’ve GOT to admit, I think this is where giving up smoking is starting to bite, it really is … !

Mostly on the basis that, right at the moment … ?

Right at the moment, I’ve got the words of my GP’s Practise Nurse in mind: basically, she told me at the start of this, I’d probably be coughing up a lot of junk, where my lungs were slowly clearing out some 26 years worth of goo.

I think that’s starting to sink in.

They feel a bit iffy, lets put it that way.

And as for my throat … ?

Well …

Lets just I think Debbi’s brought a bear back from her Portland holiday, which has sneaked over to the UK, JUST so it can use my mouth as a toilet …

Lets move on, shall we … ?

Before Lyn and Kaiju say something … !

Talking of Lyn, Kaiju and Debbi … ?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Lyn, Kaiju and Debbi all putting in their answers: with all three scoring 6 out of 6, it also saw Kaiju doing his usual sterling job, in telling us about Emperor Puyi, and Debbi commenting about how slow her computer was*.

Lets see how they — and you — do with today’s questions, shall we? Here they are, along with the ‘How To’, License and video

Enjoy those, everyone: I’ll catch you later …

After leaving you with a cartoon …

* You know I could be commenting, there, Debbi, except I know Kaiju will raise at least one eyebrow! But at any rate … ? I’ve a little utility called Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner, which is designed to just clean out some of the gunk that builds up in me Mac. I don’t know if Kaiju or Lyn use something similar for their versions of Windoze, but … … … … …

Debbi, as improbable as it seems, I clean gunk out of PCs manually. Old, old habit. But in Windows, you can go to Windows Explorer, right click on c:\ directory, click on Properties, then click on the "Disk Cleanup" in the middle of the page. Let'er rip!

You may also consider defragging your drive. There is some controversy about doing that, but I do it fairly regularly with the desired results. My systems run smoothly. Knock wood...

Hope this helps...and that you don't have some nasty bugs lurking on your drive...

6. Um, let's be creative here - how about "Mickey in New York). Now that I think about it, Betty Boop might have come before the Mouse.
7. Oh Canada

I have a feeling I'll get at least 3 right, which means I'll top my all-time best!

Hey, Kaiju! (If you're reading this. :)) I usually clear the cache myself periodically. I've been neglecting to do it lately. I'll try your method.

Also, I can't recall the last time I defragged my drive, so I should probably do that, too.

Otherwise, I think my system is pretty clean of bugs. I hope. :)
