8th March, 2019.
Yes …
It’s a Friday.
And, frankly … ?
It’s …
Well, in one sense, it’s just another day.
One that saw me making my regular fortnightly trip to the local Job Centre: partly to report my job finding progress, partly yo see what they could do for me.
Frankly?
Not much of either.
Not much of either.
Hopefully?
By my next visit, there’s be progress, from one of us.
I hope …

At any rate: it’s a Friday.
And, as you’ve possibly noticed?
I’ve usually managed to occupy myself with some TV.
Yes: you’ve got it …

Episode 8 — If Memory Serves — opens with a brief summary of classic Trek episode, The Menagerie, parts one and two.
But opens with Captain Pike (Anson Mount) following Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green): unsure of where she and Spock (Ethan Peck) are heading.
The pair … ? Are heading for Talos Four, first seen in The Menagerie.
On top of their bad habits … ?
The Talosians are very good at healing telepathic damage …

Back on the Discovery?
Tyler finds himself having to deal a Captain who doesn’t trust him.
And with a Hugh Culber who’s NOT pleased on seeing him …

Now … right now … ?
I don’t know that I’m as stunned with Star Trek Discovery as I could be.
Right now … ? I’m still firmly of the opinion the other series I’m watching, right now — El Ministerio del Tiempo — is the better bit of TV.
That’s still not to say Star Trek Discovery is bad.
It’s not: tonight’s episode was entertaining …
Although I think the best thing in it?
Was Ethan Peck’s wonderfully restrained performance as Spock …
Given the job situation gives me time to watch both series?
Given the job situation gives me time to watch both series?
I’m planning on keeping my eyes on Star Trek Discovery*.
If a lack of time forced me to watch just one?
I’d tell you to watch El Ministerio del Tiempo: it’s far less po-faced!
* My one big complaint … ? Star Trek Discovery is beautifully designed, it really is. But I really am starting to get annoyed about the amount of lens flare that’s showing up. I like seeing the new designs on Star Trek Discovery: but the atmospheric lens flare you get in each episode? Is obscuring that.
