1st January, 2020.
Yes: it’s officially official.
I — with a bit of help from my sisters, Anna and Ruth, and my nephew, Jude* — saw Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
You can read my (quick) review, here.
Needless to say, though?
I enjoyed it.
It’s not perfect, but I enjoyed it.
But I can’t help but wonder.
At one point, the number 42 get’s a prominent (ish) mention: along side C3-PO asking if he was in the afterlife.
Where did they get that from?
Oh …
Oh …
And at least ONE character’s floating around looking like a cross between Davros and Vladimir Harkonnen.
Which is sort of appropriate, as the revived Dune is due to air, this year.
Like I say: it’s not perfect: but is a very good way of rounding off the series.

* Who made sure I knew when Mummy had fallen asleep!
† I liked it, Olga, I have to admit. Granted, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker has a few flaws: not every character has a tied off story. But it’s a good way of finishing the story. And Chewie, mourning Leia’s death? Brought a tear to my eye. What can I tell you?
‡ Happy New Year, Debbi: toy’s an official short set!

Happy New Year! I'm pleased you enjoyed it, and it seems that most people fond of the series did. It's been a long journey and they've become part of our lives. And of course, no family is ever perfect. I'll try to go and watch it at the cinema, but I'll wait until after the holidays, when it dies down a bit.
Yay! Happy new year! :)
