Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 7-7-2021: World Chocolate Day

7th July, 2021.

Right … I’ve finished some videos, been to two Zoom meetings, had a meeting about my CV …

And done my usual job searching.

It means I’ve some free time.

I really should do the next bit of the Health and Safety training I’m on … but I’m also tempted to watch some TV: I’ve the first series of Perry Mason, and Lovecraft Country, sitting around.

Saying that … ?

I’m also reading Foundation: the original, Asimov, novel.

We’ll have to see.

~≈Á≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum†, Edith‡ and Debbi^ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, Mum on four and Edith on three.

The day also Trevorª, and Olga, leaving us a message. Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1)        7th July is World Chocolate Day.   When was it first marked: 2008, 2009 or 2010?

Q2)        Chocolate is made from what: cacao seeds, cacao bark or cacao roots?

Q3)        The seeds are turned into cocoa butter.   Cocoa butter is usually pale what: yellow, blue or red?

Q4)        Which one doesn’t have milk in it: milk chocolate, white chocolate or dark chocolate?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Drinking chocolate is also known as hot chocolate.   And also as what: cocoa, cacao or kakapo?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        In the US, 6th July is National Fried what day: Fried Chicken, Fried Yams or Fried Mars Bar?
A1)        Fried Chicken.

Q2)        6th July is — according to some — International Kissing Day.   The day has its origins, where: China, Russia or the UK?
A2)        The UK.

Q3)        Piper Alpha caught fire: on 6th July, 1988.   What was Piper Alpha: an oil tanker, an oil rig or a nuclear submarine?
A3)        An oil rig.

Q4)        Cosmic Call 2 was broadcast on 6th July, 2003.   The message to extraterrestrials was sent from Yevpatoria. Yevpatoria is in which disputed region: Crimea, East Jerusalem or Cyprus?
A4)        Crimea.

Q5)        Finally … ? London’s trams made their ‘last’ trip: on 6th July, 1952.   London’s new Tramlink service went into operation, in which year: 1999, 2000 or 2001?
A5)        2000.
Here’s a thought …
“Life is like a box of chocolates.   You never know what you’re gonna get.”
From Forrest Gump.
And a playlist …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        You know, I keep thinking I should visit the London tram lines, myself, Olga: they’re as rare, here, as they there, it seems.   These days, I only ever get as far as Romford … !   Which reminds me, I’ve a couple of other things to trade, there.
Clue’s possibly worth a re-visit, then!
Sounds like the Fair’s a case for Perry Mason, then: the Case of the Vanishing Themed Fair!   Either way?   Good luck for tomorrow’s gig!

†        Hello, Mum!

‡        You do find some gems, Edith!   :D   That’s the first time I’ve seen Liza’s: I like the intro to it, as well, it’s very different to Barry’s version.   It reminds me — a little — of something John Lennon and Paul McCartney always insisted on.   If you covered one of their Beatles tunes, they insisted you did as different a version as possible.   The audience would get a ‘new,’ song,  they’d get a song-writer royalty: and you’d get an arrangers fee for ‘your’ version.   Oh, did you ever see Jean Stapleton’s version of I’m Just Wild about Harry?   That always appealed to my sense of humour.

^        Yep: got the message, Debbi, I’ll try and get there, tomorrow.   Oh, JUST as a thought … ?   If the group decides to do a fund raising quiz, they’re welcome to raid the Friday Question Sets: and the Teasers!   That’s why I’ve got them all under the Creative Commons License I use.
Yes, I know he did a couple: but I’ve never seen them!   I’m pretty sure Simon Jones — the original Arthur Dent — has done one, too: but I’m blowed if it’s mention in his Wikipedia entry!

ª        Insurance sounds complicated, Trevor!   And … well … would whoever now owns the White Star Line have something to say about those unpaid claims  … ?   I’d imagine The late payment fees could be a bit stiff!

I hope something comes out of the job applications, Paul. Well, I've had the last English lesson with Jordi for this term, and we've agreed he's made a big improvement, even though he hasn't had as much time to study as he hoped.

I ended up posting about today. Hopefully, the Crime Cafe video will be up soon. *sigh*

I knew I should have taken that computer course back in the 90s. :)

But, you know, I learned a lot about the World Wide Web when I was in library school. We even learned how to FTP, which of course, I've pretty much forgotten since then. :)
