Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 4-3-2024 — New Hampshire

4th March, 2024: New Hampshire.

Right … it’s officially official: I am up early, again.

Yes: it’s Monday, and I’m off to my weight management meeting, today.

Again.

Hopefully?

The weight’s gone down.

It would be a nice thing to mark my birthday!

You’re possibly aware that Chancellor Jeremy Hunt will be announcing the UK’s budget plans on Wednesday.

And?

That I’ve had help from Southend Council’s Essential Living Fund over the past few months.

That fund?   Is financed by the Household Support Fund.

And … ?

It looks like the money for the Fund could well end, in this budget.

That’s beyond sad.

Beyond being a shame.

And beyond many words I could use.

There are thousands who rely on schemes like this.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Here’s a thought …
“Of the 50 U.S. states, New Hampshire is the fifth smallest by area and the tenth least populous, with a population of 1,377,529 residents as of the 2020 census.”
From the Wikipedia entry on New Hampshire.
And a state song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Francis Scott Key, you mean, Olga?   Yeah, that does seem a little contradictory!
That’s a good thought, Olga: as and when someone does agree to pick, I can always let the neighbours know.   We have a WhatsApp group: so that’s something I can use.   At any rate … ?   I had another interested party, yesterday: offering two hundred pounds, fifty pounds about the asking price.   I don’t know if she was suspicious, though: as she lost interest when I told her my conditions.

        Hello, Mum!

        That’s always a possibility, Debbi!
Oh, I know YouTube and Facebook are throwing the late Spike Milligan at me: ye gods, the man was funny!

Q1) 1778? (I’m not sure. There is a lot of confusion in documents between the constitution, the times, dates, so not sure, I’ve found this in one, but other answers referring to June 1788 (which must be the final (?) constitution as such)

Q2) Colonies that rebelled against British rule

Q3) the Granite State

Q4) Concord

Q5) Manchester

Q6) Iowa

Q7) legislature

Q8) Christian Science

Q9) Rye

Q10) New England
I hope the weight loss meeting went well and you get some positive news on the laptop. Fingers crossed!
