The former One Direction star was on holiday in Argentina: falling from a third floor hotel room, after — it seems — getting drunk.

There’s possibly half a ton of stuff to say, there.

But?

The thing that surprises me, isn’t the fans mourning.

I can understand that.

What always surprises me?

Is the hero worship shown.

Humanity does seem to like bending at the knee.

†        Hello, Mum!

‡        It’s times like this I wish we had some sort of official ID, Olga: an easy to use one, at least.   I suspect paying for it — for those of us in my shoes — is going to cause issues.   Passports cost ~£90, just as an example: and my provisional driving license was ~£45.   And I had help with the driving license.

        Oh, a job scam!   It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of those!   The last one I got was from a company who wanted me to work from home: and offering to buy me a very expensive MacBook Pro, and a satellite phone.   I turned them down, obviously: no company I know is going to buy me a MacBook: when they can get half a dozen cheap Chromebooks for the same price.

        You’re right: the idea’s sound.   But the practical details … ?   Well …

§        The trick with chips, Debbi, from what I recall?   Is to parboil them for a short time, before you fry them.   You get a nicer surface, that way.   (I haven’t made fried chips for years: it’s a touch healthier if you air fry them!)
