The Daily Teaser — 26-5-2015

You know, I’m sort of caught.   Between telling you about Didcot, and telling you about Gotham.

Right at the moment … ?   I’ve the series finale of the first series of Gotham on in the background: and it’s looking an impressive piece of work.

The one annoying thing about it, though?

Is the simple fact of that mid season break.   I can understand US channels wanting it: to boost advertising.

But as a viewer?   It’s frustrating, annoying and deeply angering.

Now … Just to follow up on a story from the last couple of day … ?   Remember me telling you about the — apparent — murder suicide, in Didcot?   And how, yesterday, police announced that they were looking for a suspect.

They’ve found him.   At least, they found his body: in woods near the area.

I must confess … I’d love to know what his motivation was in committing his crimes …

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring five out of six.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 26th May, 1907, saw the birth of actor, Marion Morrison.   Morrison was better known under his stage name.   What was that stage name: James Stewart, John Wayne or Paul Newman?
Q2) 26th May, 1913, saw the birth of actor, Peter Cushing.   In which film did he play Dr Abner Perry?
Q3) 26th May, 1806, saw who crowned as King of Italy?
Q4) 26th May is the feast day of Saint Augustine of Canterbury.   Augustine is thought to be the first archbishop of where?
Q5) Finally … 26th May, 1981, saw the government of which European country, resign: as a result of a scandal?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 25th May saw Argentina and Chile both issue versions of their constitutions.   Name either of the relevant years.
A1) 1819 or 1833.
Q2) More to the point … ?   Which country issued their constitution, first?
A2) Argentina, in 1819.
Q3) Who, on 25th May, 1935, broke three world records at an athletics meeting in Ohio?
Q4) 25th May, 1977, saw the original US release of Star Wars.   The first spin-off film is due to be released in 2016: what — so far — is that film’s planned name?
A4) Rogue One.
Q5) The Phoenix lander landed in Green Valley: on 25th May, 2008.   It, and the Valley, are on which planet?
A5) Mars.
Q6) Finally … 25th May, 2011, saw the last episode broadcast: of which TV show?
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“I can’t tell you how much time is spent worrying about decisions that don’t matter.”

Ward Cunningham, born May 26, 1949.
And this song …

Enjoy your day … !
