Hmmm …
I think I’m going to have to keep an eyeball open, there.
It’s — relatively — early in the morning: and I’ve just had an old friend, Faye, contact me, via Facebook’s
Messenger
service.
Apparently?
There’s a new series out, called Channel Zero: she caught the first episode of the second series on YouTube, last night.
Considering Faye had recommended Martyrs to me? Which was something I enjoyed … ?
Well … I may have to have a look around for it …

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) BBC reporter, John Simpson, was the only BBC reporter to report form Taleban held Afghanistan: after being smuggled in on 22nd September, 2001. Whilst wearing what?
Q2) Who was elected as Haitian President: on 22nd September, 1957?
Q3) Who was born on 22nd September, TA 2890?
Q4) Lord Randolph Churchill gave a speech in what’s now Northern Island: on 22nd September, 1885. About what: Home Rule, the Poll Tax or the Corn Laws?
Q5) Finally … 22nd September saw the first issue of the first issue of National Geographic. In which year?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit was first published: on 21st September, 1937. What’s the overall name of Tolkien’s sequel to The Hobbit?
Q2) What was the name of Tolkien’s posthumously published sequel to that latter book?A2) The Silmarillion.
Q3) The Hobbit’s main character is a hobbit called what?
Q4) Famously, that hobbit finds a magical ring: that turns him what: pink, invisible or silent?A4) Invisible.
Q5) Finally? Bilbo and his friends set out to steal a dragon’s what: treasure, lair or major internal organs?A5) Treasure.
Here’s a thought …
“You and I, Sam, are still stuck in the worst places of the story, and it is all too likely that some will say at this point: ‘Shut the book now, dad; we don’t want to read any more.’”Frodo Baggins, born 22rd September, TA 2968.
And a song …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Have a good day.
* You know, I’ve never actually put AdBlock on my phone, Olga. As attractive as it, and things like
SnapChat
actually are … ? I’ve run out of space … ! Now you mention it? I don’t actually use Siri — or the Google equivalent on my phone/tablet — that much. I like typing!
† Yep, Debbi: I’m not someone who makes use of an e-reader. Mostly, it’s a lack of cash. I’ve an Android tablet I could use: but it means putting cash on it, cash I’d rather spend on an iTunes card, so I can rent a movie. And I’ve am older iPod touch I could use as an e-reader, and could use my iTunes account with … but frankly, the screen’s too small! (And I’d get distracted by
Tetris Blitz
… !)

I bought a new phone (yes, a Chinese Android thing, but much cheaper than the usual suspects) and added some memory to it to make sure I didn't run out... I should try.
I've seen Channel Zero advertised (my friends have Sci Fi) but it hasn't started yet so I don't think I'll catch it. It does look interesting.
Sorry for butting in another conversation, but there are so many free books (not only classics, but new) that you wouldn't need to spend any money at all. You can always upload a reader to your tablet (Amazon has a big selection of books but the rest of the distributors also do) and if you join a few of the newsletters going around offering free and discounted books you'd be more than covered, although I know you prefer movies. The system is odd, because sometimes they have special offers and I've been given credit to buy other things for "buying" a free book sometimes, so go figure!
Well, print books are awesome! FWIW! :)
