Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th April, 2018

6th April, 2018.

Problems, problems, problems …

Problems … !

Frankly, at the mo?

I’m having money issues: and seriously considering taking out a loan.

Not something I want, understandably, but there you go.

I’m ALSO very aware I’ve asked about a permanent contract at work.

Which doesn’t necessarily solve anything, either.

But would, at least, mean I’m on a set amount of hours per week.

AND be able to claim Statutory Sick Pay, as well.

We’ll have to see.

~≈§≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) The plane carry the presidents of Rwanda and Burundi was shot down: on 6th April, 1994.   The plane came down near the capital of which of the countries?
Q2) John 1st acceded the throne of where: on 6th April, 1385?
Q3) A version of what was patented on 6th April, 1869: celluloid, electroplating or burtonisation?
Q4) Philosopher, Maimonides, was born in Córdoba on 6th April, 1135 … or 1138.   Or the 30th March of either year!   He was a noted thinker in which religion: Judaism, Christianity or Islam?
Q5) Finally … Which German American composer and pianist was born on 6th April, 1929?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) John Rolfe got married: on 5th April, 1614.   To whom?
A1) The Native American tribal Chieftain’s duster variously known as Rebecca Rolfe, Matoika or just plain old Pocahontas.
Q2) The War of the Pacific started on 5th April, 1879: when Chile declared war on two neighbouring nations.   Name either one of the two.   (We just need one: not both.)
A2) Bolivia or Peru.
Q3) The Heavyweight champion of the world, Jack Johnson, lost the title to Jess Willard: on 5th April of which year?
A3) 1915.
Q4) During the American Civil War, 5th April, 1862, saw the start of The battle of where: Yorktown, Birmingham or New York?
A4) Yorktown.
Q5) Finally … 5th April, 1900, saw the birth of Spencer Tracey.   Which 1937 film bagged him a Best Actor Oscar?
.
Here’s a thought …
“In so far as the soul is a force residing in the body; it has therefore been said that the properties of the soul depend of the condition of the body.”
Maimonides, 6th April, 1135 or 1138 to 12 December 1204.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Ah HA!   The Last Days Of Olga Nuñez Miret in England!   I think it’s a shame the way things went: the UK’s going to suffer the loss of you and other EU residents.   But here’s hoping the move goes quickly: and well!   (And yeah … you have a LOVE an automated reply!)

†        I still can’t believe Radio Caroline’s still going, Debbi.   That was Britain’s equivalent of the Mexican pirates you’d get in the southern US.
