13th August, 2020.
It’s officially the case … that I’ve looked out of my window … !
And … ?
Well, as I think I’ve mentioned in the introduction video … ? We have cloud cover.
Hopefully?
We’ll get rain.
~≈®≈~
Saying that … ?
The, it seems, was a factor in Scotland, yesterday …
It seems the overnight rain … helped caused a landslide … which hit at the wrongest possible time …
I’m hoping for rain …
But, equally, as I live near the line from Southend to Liverpool Street? I’m hoping Brentwood Station avoids that …

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 13th August is International Left Handers Day. How much of the human population of the world is said to be left handed: 10, 15 or 20%?
Q2) According to one study, left handers are supposed to have a lower birth what: weight, length or width?
Q3) According to economist, Joshua Goodman, left-handers make 10 to 12 percent less money than right handers: over the course of a life time. He published the study, when: 2013, 2014 or 2015?
Q4) Kangaroos are supposed to show a preference for the left paw. Because, apparently, and like all marsupials, they lack a corpus callosum. Where — in placental mammals — is the corpus callosum?
Q5) Finally … ? Roughly four percent of identical what, will both be left handed?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 12th August is Sea Org Day. It’s a holiday in which religion?A1) Scientology.
Q2) US Baseball players went on strike, on 12th August, 1994. What was cancelled as a result: the World Cup, World Series or Super Bowl?
Q3) Helena Blavatskaya was born on 12th August, 1831. The occultist was born in what’s now which country … ?A3) Ukraine.
Q4) 12th August, 1881, saw the birth of director, Cecil B. DeMille. What was the name of his first, 1914, film?
Q5) DeMille did a biopic of Cleopatra: who, by a huge coincidence, died on 12th August, 30BC. After — apparently — being bitten by what: asps, spiders or Venus flytraps?A5) Asps. (Other reports say she killed herself with a poisoned hairpin … or died, either way, on the 10th August. I get the impression Roman historians were being … you know … reliable!)
Here’s a thought …
“Two and a half thousand left-handed people are killed every year using things made for right-handed people.”From The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O’Farrell.
And a playlist …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
As a FINAL thought for my fellow southpaws? Find a right-handed friend’s laptop … and swap the mouse buttons around.
Let them see how the other hand lives!
Have a good day.
* It’s decidedly ungood, Trevor! I’m on a CPAP machine, which helps. But, even so, I had the windows wide open, last night!
† Yep! That’s Olga of Kiev, Olga! And, yes, the the books an interesting read! I’m juggling it with John W. Campbell’s Who Goes There collection, as well. The original short story was the one The Thing’s based on!
Bloody hell, those hailstones sound nasty!
‡ Like I say, Debbi … !

Q4) In the brain (beneath the cerebral cortex. I’m not sure how specific you want us to be. It connects both sides of the brain. You have quite amazing experiments resulting from people who’ve accidentally had it severed (or due to illness).
Q5) Twins (It seems it is not only a genetic thing).
Happy International Left Handers Day to you! I'm useless with my left hand (well, I can type with it, but that's mostly it).
