29th August, 2020.
Right …
I’ve officially had a late night. I’m officially tired …
But I’ve also seen another episode of Disney+’s The Mandalorian.
It’s a good episode: I’m just not convinced it’s the best in series.
Still …
As much as it took me a while to notice … it’s nice to see that title linked to that number … again …

I don’t know if you follow the news: but I’m sure you’ve heard the news of the death of actor, Chadwick Boseman, the star of Marvel’s Black Panther.
Of colon cancer, at the stupidly young age of forty-three.
I’d only seen him in Black Panther: but came away impressed, both with it, and his performance.
But lord … that’s one hell of a loss …

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Trevor† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with all three scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 29th August is the traditional feast day marking the Beheading of John the Baptist. On the orders of which King: Herod the Great, Herod the Mad or Herod Antipas?
Q2) Herod ordered the beheading, at the request of his step-daughter. Who was she?
Q3) She’s said to have demanded his head on a what?
Q4) According to Roman Catholic tradition? John’s head is said to be in the basilica called San Silvestro in Capite. San Silvestro in Capite is in which Italian city?
Q5) Finally? According to old Islamic traditions, John’s head is said to have been in the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist. This particular Basilica of Saint John the Baptist is — or was— in which Syrian city?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Here’s a quote …
“The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist, also known as the Decollation of Saint John the Baptist or the Beheading of the Forerunner, is a biblical event and holy day observed by various Christian churches that follow liturgical traditions.”From the Wikipedia article on the Beheading.
And a song …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Have a good day.
* It’s one of those subjects, I think, Olga. It’s going to sell. (Did you hear about Chadwick Boseman? Forty-three is too young.)
† I have to say, Trevor, computer makers really need to get their act together. When I grew up a kB was 1024 bytes: these days, it’s a thousand. We’ve gone metric!
‡ I noticed, Debbi! Actually, I read Whoever Fights Monsters, Robert Ressler’s autobiography, which covers his days hunting serial killers. It’s fascinating stuff. (I saw episode 6 of The Mandalorian, last night. It’s called The Prisoner. I’m just wondering if that was a coincidence … … … !)

Q1) Herod Antipas
Q2) Salome
Q3) On a platter (I thought it was supposed to be a silver platter, but not sure that is mentioned anywhere. Perhaps it’s the Spanish version of the Bible)
Q4) Rome
Q5) Damascus
No. I hadn't heard about Chadwick Boseman. Such sad news. It seems he'd been fighting the illness since 2016. A sad reminder that cancer keeps taking its toll, despite the advancements in its treatment. Age sometimes can be a confounding factor, as people wouldn't always think of the illness first in one so young. Very sad.
A1 Herod Antipas
A2 Salome
A3 Platter (some say a Silver Platter)
A4 Rome
A5 Damascus
Well, it's an intriguing thought. :)
1. King Herod
2. Salome
3. platter
4. Rome
5. Damascus
I wish someone would do a decent remake of "The Prisoner". Or "Danger Man"! :)
I also wish I could have met Patrick McGoohan. I can't believe he was born in Astoria, NY! That was my old neighborhood.
