Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 23-11-2020: Dr Who

23rd November, 2020.

It’s official: I’ve seen episode three of Star Trek Discovery’s third series.

And, it has to be said, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it!

Keep your eyes peeled for it, it’s rather good.

The downside to me finishing the video fairly late in the evening?

I still feel shattered this morning.

Which is awkward: it’s pay-day.

Which means trudging into town to stop, pay bills, and make phone calls!

~≈¥≈~

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Trevor*, Olga†, Mum‡ and Debbi^ putting in their answers: with Olga, Trevor and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video

Q1)        Dr Who debuted on British TV screens.   On the 23rd November of which year?

Q2)        On what’s now which TV channel?

Q3)        The final episode of the show’s original run was in which year of the 1980s?

Q4)        The Doctor is currently played by actress, Jodie Whittaker.   Who — in the charity special, The Curse of Fatal Death — is the only other woman to play the Doctor?

Q5)        Finally … ?   The show’s theme was written Ron Grainer, and arranged by Delia who?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        The Cutty Sark was launched: on 22nd November of which year of the 1860s?
A1)        1869.

Q2)        What kind of ship was she: a barque, clipper or schooner?
A2)        A clipper.   (Clippers were said to be fast: indeed, the Cutty Sark is said to be the fastest clipper ever built.)

Q3)        The Cutty Sark was built to transport what: tea, coffee or rum?
A3)        Tea.

Q4)        She’s named after a character in Tam O’Shanter: a poem by which Scottish poet?
A4)        Robert Burns

Q5)        Finally … ?   The ship is now docked in which part of London: Greenwich, Southwark or Lewisham?
A5)        Greenwich.
Here’s a thought …
“We’d better keep an eye on him. He seems to have a knack of getting himself into trouble.”
Ian Chesterton (William Russell) in Episode one of The Daleks.
A song …

A theme …

And a very familiar sound effectª …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Feel free to share today’s video Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Through the old Brunel subway, Trevor?   I think I vaguely remember going through it, myself, many years ago.
Say hi to Penny for me, next time you see her!

†        I’m keeping my fingers crossed, Olga!   And yes, I had seen that chap’s story: a feel-good story’s always good!

‡        Hello, Mum!

^        Nice to know, Debbi!

ª        It’s not often you get to hear the complete sound effect in the modern series.

I'm just curious but, do you know how many teasers have you dedicated to Dr Who over the years? (I won't ask how many questions...)
Keep safe.

The Greenwich foot tunnel is not by I K Brunel but was built by Sir Alexander Binnie as recently as 1899. It open in 1902.
