And I have to wonder why people have stopped calling it Hump Day.

I have no idea: but am guessing it’s something to do with Elon Musk taking over Twitter.

That’s where I usually used to see the phrase.

I’ve had live versions of Wet Leg’s ‘Chaise Longue’ banging away through my head.

It’s a lot better than the studio version, I know that!

Now … am I the only one who thinks Hester Chambers —Wet Leg’s very blonde guitarist — looks vaguely like Hellraiser star, Jamie Clayton.

‡        I’ll have to add Slaughterhouse Five to my list, Debbi.   It’s supposed to be one of the Great American Novels …

^        There are times when I prefer Yazoo’s original song, and times I prefer the Flying Picketsª cover version.   Either are beautiful.

ª        Apparently?   The Flying Pickets’ version of the song was Margaret Thatcher’s favourite song.   The irony, there, of course?   She was one of the most right wing Prime Ministers Britain had seen in years, and helped keep the Miners Strike going.   The band took their name from the flying pickets who were at the Strike … and played fund raising gigs for the Miners.   I’ve written that as one of the song’s lines — “This is going to take a long time” — floated past.   The Strike certainly did.
