7th July, 2023: World Chocolate Day.
It’s Friday … !
Yay!
It’s a Friday … and you’d think I’d have something to do!
That’s the pleasure of being unemployed: you don’t necessarily have the cash to do much more than the very basics!
Either way?
I do know I can catch some TV, tonight: Star Trek Strange New Worlds is very watchable!
Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 7th July is World Chocolate Day. The cacao seeds chocolate is made from, come from the cacao what: tree, bush or rose?Q2) The cacao flowers are usually pollinated by what: flies, bees or moths?Q3) Who wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?Q4) If you compulsively eat chocolate, you’re a what?Q5) Finally … ? Chocolate flavoured alcoholic drinks are chocolate … what? (I’m going to be very strict about spelling on this question.)
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 6th July, 1980, saw the birth of actress, Eva Green. She plays Vesper Lynd: in which Daniel Craig Bond film?A1) Casino Royale.Q2) 6th July, 1986, saw the birth of entrepreneur, David Karp. Here’s a thought …
“Well, folks, it looks like we’re up chocolate creek without a popsicle stick.”From Shrek 2.
And a playlist …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Decisions about scores are final.
Thank you for coming: have a good day.
* Hello, Mum!
† It’s going to be the whole block, Olga§, at a guess: I’ve had one neighbour tell me she can’t have them, as the physical distance between them is too great. I suspect we’ll get the same issue in the rest of the street. It’s all flats: and most of the blocks will have some distance between meters. It’s not going to be an easy thing to solve. (I suspect repeater stations, on the outside walls, will be needed.)
Press person … ? I’ve got to admit, I’ve been watching The Thick of It, just recently: whoever I hear the phrase, ‘press person’ I start thinking of Malcolm Tucker. Peter Capaldi made an impression.
I see what you mean about the Roman Lighthouse: I suspect the Roman habit of building straight roads may be a factor. They knew how to put bricks in straight lines …
‡ It’s the Seventh Doctor’s Panama hat, isn’t it, Debbi¶? It makes an impression!
Just as an incidental, and very rhetorical, question? Can I find a clip of the Seventh Doctor, tipping his hat? On Youtube? Can I … ? Can I, heck!
§ I’m in number two, Olga, and believe the folks in number one and three will be in a similar position to me. Their gas and electricity meters are near to each other. The rest of the block, though? Nope!
¶ Did I mention I’m watching The Thick of It, Debbi? Dear lord, but Capaldi’s on form … ! I’m also thinking he’d be very good as a Terry Pratchett character called Mr Slant. Mr Slant’s a lawyer. A zombie one. (Discworld zombies become because they die before finishing something. Slant died before getting paid for that one case … … )
